Been a while since I updated. I've been to LA twice. First trip was to a friend of my girlfriend's graduation. She became a doctor. Pretty impressive, since I don't know anyone who actually is a doctor. This weekend I went to racing school in Ventura, CA at Jim Hall Kart racing. You can see the pics here: Karting Pics. I've increaced my driving ability two fold. I can sense vehicle dynamics on a new level, can see how to drive the line in most situations and had a huge amount of fun racing around the track. Trent and I took the top two spots. It seemed that age and weight were the two biggest factors this weekend. Everyone's times improved as the day goes on, so I hope everyone is happy that they learned a lot and had a great time too.

Had an awesome weekend. Ran in the Bay to Breakers with 70,000 crazy people. I saw plenty of naked people, drunk people, old and young people. It was cool to stand at the starting line with so many happy people. Its cool to see such an event where soooo many people get together and are in a goodwill-towards-man type mood. Don't see that too often anymore on such a large scale.

Looks like DotComs are starting to die out. Makes me wonder what I should do with my career. Should I weather this and hope that some of the more lame companies get weeded out, or should I react now in hopes of beating a tide that is going in some general direction. IPOs are getting pulled, layoffs are happening, Toysmart.com closed its doors. Definitely not the balls-out-optimism that we had a few months ago where almost nobody could fail.

Posted the pics from my carmel trip Carmel Trip. Decided to start putting IM quotes on the main page just for the hell of it.
Had a dinner last night with the Java Dream Team in an effort to decide what to do withourselves as a group.

PeopleScape laid off 50% of our company. Time to start thinking about alternatives and looking for other opporotunities.

Greg got engaged over the weekend, good for him. Its cool to see people solidifying things in their lives. I just wish work here could be the same.

Well, we lost our first person in the engineering team, Bridget to our funding troubles. She was the one who introduced me to the weblog so I figured I would use that as a catalyst to post something to my log.

I hope that this isn't the first of many, but things are turning strangly down a path that none of us here like. My main goal is to stick with this group of engineers, since they are both my friends and some of the most talented people I know. Dedication and the smarts to go along with it.

Reading around this whole weblog community. Its rather interesting that people are excited about posting what they think to the web. I wonder what the subjects in the weblogs actually think.

My first blog. Curious to see how this works. I wonder if it has a spell checker, cuz I'm a horrible speller and am strangely self concience about it. Basicly looking for a spot to post thoughts that come into my head, and perhaps a journal of life events I can look back on at some point in my life and do whatever with. Interested if people will actuall read my logs.
