I'm trying not to be selfish...I think I'm fine with the fact that they're not playing NFL games this weekend. I would have been fine either way--if they had played, it would have helped at least some people in getting away from everything for a while, but since they're not, that's probably what's best for the players. I watched interviews with quite a few of them and I could understand that they couldn't concentrate on the game. However...why is it that most people are just expected to be thrown back into the daily grind? I mean...I know I wasn't there, I know I didn't know anyone there, I know "I" am not terribly important, but I can't concentrate very well on my job either. (Hm. Looks like the selfishness is slipping out. Lovely. -_-;) I'm going to need some major distraction this weekend...but it seems like sports and TV won't really start up again until Monday. So...there's no distraction. There's going to be a whole lot of quiet. Granted, I like quiet most of the time, but right now it's not what I need, it's not what I need at all.

I don't normally write entries from work anymore, but since I'm on my lunch break and I really feel like writing something...
~sigh~ Why do things like this happen? I can understand people's anger--you can tell from my post here yesterday--and maybe I can even understand, to a small degree, the need to blame. But this...this goes too far. It reminds me (as I'm sure it does many other people) of stories I read about the WWII internment of Japanese-Americans. This isn't going to solve anything. So why do it? Why add to the hate? It's just...frustrating.

I don't think there's anything I can say that hasn't already been said. Obviously, whoever was behind today's attacks has no respect for human life. I know that in some places, even places in this very country, there are people laughing about what happened today, the destruction, the panic, the senseless bloodshed. That makes me sick. Perhaps those people think the nation brought it upon themselves. I don't believe this is the case. I'd never wish of something even a fraction of the size of this disaster on my worst enemy. For the most part, my emotions today have swayed from shock to numbess to sadness to anger to fear. However, I have felt one constant, and that is the sinking feeling in the pit of my stomach. The feeling of utter disgust. I can't remember a time when I've felt quite like this. There have been times where I've felt certain aspects of it to extreme degrees, but to have rapid changes like this, to have so many thoughts running through my head at one time--never before. I don't have any friends or relatives in New York, but if any of you reading this know people (or know people who know other people) who got stuck in this, my heart goes out to you all.

Extremely Random Quote of the Week:
"But it's my haunted pocket. When I bought these pants I found a note in there that said 'Inspected by Number 47'. Number 47? What about the other 46? Were they not good enough to inspect my pants!?" --Brak
The game was boring for the first three hours or so, but in the last quarter it picked up. And the Niners won in overtime. Lovely. ^_^ I don't know if they'll even end up with an 8-8 season, but they needed a good start. ~yawn~ Nothing else to say about that, really. Besides, I'm tired. -.-;

A little while ago I started watching some really bad movie of the week with Rob Lowe in it until I couldn't take any more, which was a little after the first commercial break. I find it's hard to get into shows when you can't stand any of the characters. I painted my nails gold because I felt like it. I'm going to the Niners-Falcons game tomorrow. It should be interesting since we actually have a shot at winning, ha.

Not much went on today. My parents and I went to Amici's for lunch...first time I've been there. It's good. This was a sort of belated present because we were supposed to go there for my 21st birthday--which, interestingly enough, was exactly a year and a half ago. Happy half-birthday to me. o_o Bleh, speaking of anniversaries, I think I forgot about the first anniversary of this blog. I started posting here sometime in late August last year. Damn. It doesn't feel like that much time's gone by.

Okay, the clothes weren't sent to the wrong address. They came in today. So now I'm happy, sort of. o.o; Pretty, pretty clothes. I got this really nice dark blue dress...but I don't know when I'll wear it. Maybe Christmas?
Today I saw the Jay and Silent Bob movie with my parents. ...Yeah, you heard me. It was interesting. I could see my dad going to that movie, but not Mom...she liked it, though. Then again, she liked Kevin Smith's other movies, so why am I surprised? 9_9; I think she's seen them all except "Mallrats". I've only seen "Dogma". I haven't even seen "Clerks". Isn't that sad? ^^;;;
