Okay, I'm motivated...
I'm feeling so... motivated to fix SK now for some bizarre, unknown reason (read: procrastination from schoolwork). Here's the to-do list:
- New Layout
I'm halfway through colouring a pic of Elle to use, and I'm getting better at airbrushing three dimensions into things. Expect something looking like the skin below... only blue (perhaps).
- Clean Up The Insides
I've got a better way of doing things like the preferences and includes. Not very exciting, but essential.
- Updates to the SynkLog
Private posts (running off the clique system) which will hopefully circumvent the... incident which made me take everything down in the first place. Edit/delete functionality to the posts and comments (I get sick of doing editing raw into the db... bleergh). Slicker way of printing the posts -- the loops controlling it at the moment are... not nice (thanks Michel for showing me how). Maybe even (dare I say it?) archives. They may even be... serchable (though I wouldn't wanna overshoot myself too much). Easier cross-site integration; yes, one day you too may be able to power your weblog off SK... now wouldn't that be scary?
- Finish SynkBB
Add edit/delete posts, plus admin features (again with the cliques). Finally allow multiple pages of posts. Depending on how the archive search goes, I'll probably wind up adding some searching to the boards too.
- User Stuff
Make some extra additions to profile.php so it displays the cliques a user belongs to. Plus take it out of popup windows because it's just getting too full of stuff. Add user managment features (rah rah cliques) so it's easier for admins to edit (and punish) folks.
- Fix the Tracker
Damn but I've been meaning to do that for aaaaagees. Now that i actually read about PHP session ID's, I can stop having to rely on IP addresses which is mondo unreliable. Also add a web interface to the stats (public? maybe) so I can actually check them from school (long story, maybe I'll whinge about it later).
- Add extra features
Stuff like FAQs (so I can finally explain what karma is) and various other "documenty" type thing so I can begin throwing up stories and character bios. Plus an image database so I can put up some of my newer artwork (and some of the old stuff ::shudder::), and a files database for all the junk I try my hand at like skinning things and making fonts; download stats are a must. Maybe I'll even get around to trialing the webring feature (either as part of the cliques or otherwise), and see if that is going to be as easy as I think it is...
- Finally...
When all is said and done, package everything up and release it on the world (mwahahaha). Lastly, add skinning ability to the site. Obviously I'm not going to add this until everything is more-or-less complete or there are going to be... problems. But it certainly is on the agenda.

What? No Update?
Okay, okay, so I'm slack and haven't gotten around to re-writing SK. So bloody well shoot me. Anyway, in the midst of my Having Too Much of A Lifeness, I managed to churn out a WinAmp skin. Yay for me. |

Update: Hiatus?
Okay. I think I've sorted out my problem with my weblog. I think. Anyway, I'm not toally disillusioned anymore (always a plus) which means that we are coming back as soon as I finish the next update to the SK core. The log and boards will deifnatley be fixed. We may even have archives for log posts, permalinks, better logging-in facilities, image/file galleries an probably even a new layout (this one's getting boring).
In the meantime, we have a new hostee, as well as some updates on two old ones, and a few more of the little buggers coming within the next few days. There's also always the boards if you get, well, bored. I won't be dead; I just won't be posting.
This is just a Hiatus (SK's second in one year, in fact). Be warned... |

Pick It Back Up And Start Again
It's all gone. All of it. Don't even bother asking why.
I don't feel like posting anymore. Maybe we'll be back eventually, maybe we won't. Who knows.
