News:

Everyone is creative. Forget the notion that being creative always means being an artist. What makes you creative? Do you manage your time in creative ways? Do you give your pets creative names? Do you eat, sleep, drive, look around, go to work, or have fun in a creative way?

Creative People is currently focusing on building our online community. Please email us if you'd like to join! Also, please browse or Resource Library and our webpages.

Tabita Ann Ronemous is the winner of the First Creative People "Creative Idea Competition." Tabitha wins the book "Pencil Dancing: New
Ways to Spark Your Creative Imagination" by Mari Messer. Here is Tabitha's Creative Idea!

"My idea involves a brand-new program to browse the internet. This program would be hybrid (able to work on any platform, Mac, PC, Linux, what have you) and totally customizable to fit the user's individual needs. First of all, a built-in search option would be a must. A small text box up in the title bar of the screen would provide a searching capability. The user can totally forget 'start-up pages' provided by various groups around the web, the browser would have local weather, news, horoscopes, email, etc. all built right in. How will this be done? Partnerships with websites such as moreover.com (news headlines) weather.com, spyonit.com (receive notification when a certain thing is updated), etc. would each have their own little section in the browser. Email would also be built right in for easy access by the user. Flood watch issued by the National Weather Service for your area? Alert pops up in your browser. Antique sewing machine available on eBay? Alert in your browser. New email from your boyfriend/mom/best friend? Pops up in your browser. And that's only the beginning. Built-in translators (partner with AltaVista's Babelfish) would also be very handy, to be used for translating websites, email, or just a word you need in a different language. Say you just looove to blog. Well, a little part of your browser screen could be especially configured just to alert you whenever someone posts to your group blog, allow you to post messages back, etc. There are a lot of possibilities!

"Let's not forget the aesthetics. This new browser would make it easy to take the brand-new picture of your cute baby niece your sister just emailed you and use it as a wallpaper or graphic on your browser. A partnership with places like webshots.com would allow a new photograph or painting to be used every day, if desired. All the browser colors (on scrollbars, titlebars, buttons, etc.) would be customizable, along with other features (cursors, hourglasses or 'thinking cursors', button icons, etc.) Music would be also integrated into this new program. An entire mini-program would be integrated into the new browser to be used for organizing and collecting (via napster-like programs) songs to be played while surfing the net, sharing with friends, etc.

"So what makes this new type of browser better than all the others? The most important feature would have to be ease of use. Large, easy-to-see buttons, plenty of help features and simple design would all help to achieve that goal. Also, as computers and technology in general evolve, special adaptations of this program would be made available for users with special needs (websites read out loud for the blind, voice recognition for the handicapped, etc.) And that's my creative idea."

Congratulations, Tabatha! That is one well-thought out, creative idea.
