Today, I watched George W. Bush as he was sworn in as the 43rd President of the United States. If you know me, you know I didn't vote for George Bush. Still, I was impressed with his speech and his actions and his respect for Bill Clinton and Al Gore and his demeanor during the entire process. I will give President Bush a chance. Please, Mr. President, don't bring our country back to where it was 10 years ago. We've grown so much, we've learned so many things about equality and diversity and how those concepts can work together ... of course, we still have a very long way to go ... but, we were on the right track. Sorta. Don't derail it. The Inauguration reminded me proud I am of our country. You hear so many people gripe, you get frustrated yourself ... but you realize how great your "system" is when you watch the most powerful man in the world, standing in the freezing rain, as he takes off his glove to shake the hand of the man he relinquishes that power to ... a political adversary. Yawwwwwwn. It's well after midnight ... I've been working for days trying to fix this weblog software exactly how I want it. Now, it's finally done. Suddenly, I'm wondering why I bothered to set it up in the first place. I don't have time for an online journal. And who'd care to read about my life anyway? Hopefully, YOU! I guess I'll officially start babbling tomorrow. I'm too sleepy tonight ... zzzzzz Thursday, December 28, 2000
