Today we went to the Aoyama area for a walk around before meetings at Intec. We’re getting pretty good with the subway system. This edition of photos has a few more of Kern (upon request from his wife). Pretty full day. After training we went to Kinko’s for some printing and binding fun. Went to the restaurant area near the hotel for some various skewers. Garlic wrapped in paper-thin bacon and grilled is a genius combination. Afterwards we went back to the scotch bar. Such a nice place this time there were some Japanese locals who challenged us to eat some conyake (sp?). It was some kind of firm vegetable product fried up with some great spices and tiny fish. They’ll have to do better than that. I still haven’t brought the camera with me to this place but I will next time. And there will be a next time. So tomorrow we start training at Intec. I plan to fully document their toilets as they are un-freaking-believable. Automatic lifting lid, 15+ button console… We also met up with Kern’s friend Seth who works for Merrill Lynch. Had a good “check-your-shoes-at-the-door” meal near his office. He’s fluent and plans to guide us on a day trip to the coast this Saturday. Good stuff. Tokyo Day 3 Tuesday, August 07, 2001
Had a meeting at our partner's office this morning then Kern and I had a chance to wander around the city. We took the subway to the Tokyo Fish Market and had an incredible sushi lunch.Tokyo Photos Day Two Monday, August 06, 2001
So, I'm in Tokyo this week. Got in this afternoon around 2:00 local time, took a couple trains into the downtown area and checked into the hotel by 5. Had some great Korean BBQ in the restaurant section near the hotel. Beef tongue hot off the grill is a treat! We went to "The Bar" on the sky deck at our hotel for a drink afterwards then decided to head back to the food district. Kern and I found a great single malt scotch bar with only one other table to speak of. We were the only ones there for a couple of hours. 400 varieties of scotch ready to pour, 1000 bottles in all. The proprietors were extremely warm. We plan to visit this place again. I'll bring my camera next time. In the mean time, here are a few shots I took in my hotel room and out the window. More to come. Tokyo Day 1 Wednesday, July 11, 2001

So, after 6 months of scooter riding I figured it was time to upgrade. Now that I'm commuting further south to Sierra Point (Between SFO and Candlestick) I needed something to handle highway 101. Here's a Large view of the new bike, a Motorworld Review and some Technical Data from BMW's site. |
