Let the fanfare and festivities commence! Yes, I am finished for 2000 with grad school work!

I battled a monster migraine yesterday (shared by one of my classmates - we were amusing ourselves with describing what they felt like. Mine was someone drilling big screws into my neck whilst someone else was sanding the inner face of my frontal bone and temporal bones and simultaneously jabbing sticks into my eyes. Katherine said that in her case, little people were pulling the skin abover her eyes over her chin and someone was stepdancing in spiked shoes on top of her head.) Anyhow, I digress. I worked trough the migraine and the almost 5 hour bus ride home to Almonte in the blizzard and finished the darn thing this morning and emailed it off.

Let the Christmas celebration begin. I must say, now I have time to get to all those mysterious site developments I was talking about. Stay tuned!!

Woo I have access again. I wonder how long it will last. Mark called the place and told them my woes, but it's gone all screwy again. This is quite annoying.

I just got home from my weekend jaunt to Peterborough. Chris is in Vancouver for most of this week so I wanted to see him before he left Saturday. Anyhow, on my way down, a Chinese woman stood behind me in line as I waited at the London terminal. She looked kind of scary, and as I was standing there, she said "you must be a student, right?" so we talked a little bit about my major (Bioarchaeology again to refresh you all) and stuff like that until the driver came and we could shuffle our cold selves aboard.

Home was nice, but I didn't get any work done and I am feeling just a tad stressed about that. I have less than a week now to get these papers done. I was struck with major writer's block. Major major major. I couldn't even sit and look at my books before my brain would wildly wrench me away to contemplate the white drifts of Rollie's fur on the rug or some other riveting sight. I tried marking papers but that wasn't good either because I started getting really frustrated with my students.

Anyhow, I took an early bus home and am home quite early. I almost don't know what to do with myself! I should work. Right now I am listening to Rammstein. I love how the German language sounds. These guys just have that German sound. It reminds me of Orff's Carmina Burana, another tune I have on my laptop. I guess I am into the epic "Nazi-era" sound. I say that in quotation marks because Carmina Burana was written in that era, and there have been some claims that Rammstein influenced the Columbine shooting, as the two kids listened to Rammstein. I have read the lyrics to most of their songs in english, and while the themes aren't what I would want a child to listen to (heck some of it I don't want to listen to....I am quite happy listening to the German), I don't think that there is a "Nazi" connotation to them, it's more like a Alice Cooper/Marilyn Manson-esqe shock rock thing going on. I think I am just in the mood for driving, jaded music. Hee it makes me laugh, because they are so serious. I am listening to "Bestraffe mich" right now, which I think means "Punish Me"...it's pretty funny.

Anyhow, I was getting on the bus, and who sits beside me, but the Chinese woman from Thursday! We ended up talking the whole way home. She is really neat, she is from Hong Kong and was telling me of her life there and the things they used to do. Then we talked about the Yo-Yo Ma garden, tai chi and fencing and learning (she audits courses at the university) and all sorts of other things. She got off downtown, and after she had left the driver turned to me and said "I didn't know there were so many things to talk about!". I felt kind of abashed, because I remember the ride Hollie and I had when we were coming back from Toronto when she came to visit and that annoying guy who sat behind us who talked the whole way home and Hollie and I ended up beaming notes to each other on our palms because we found him totally insufferable. I hope we were interesting at least.

I can't wait until I have time to work on this site. I have wanted to write...anything but those papers. I even have written a journal entry. I think I will move it to the journal when I have reliable access, because this isn't really a blog land thing. Oh the plans I have. I can't wait.

Having inspiration issues on these papers. All I want to do is redesign this site but I can't let myself do that. Either write the papers or mark essays. My choice. I invariably am taking the third option. Today's third option has been going to lunch with Chris and trying to go to the mall. There were so many people that we decided to do our shopping online this year.

I feel totally drained from that experience. But I have DSL now so all is good.

Ok been cut off again for a while, but I see the window has opened again. This is rather frustrating. I still don't know what the problem is.

Been very busy with school, and trying to avoid the fact that I have 3 30 page essays due in...er....2 weeks. Shit...always things creep up on you. Well, at least I will be able to enjoy Christmas because this will all be done.

Ok seems as though I can get to the site now, but this might change by tomorrow. Feeling kind of swamped at the moment and being cut off from this site didn't help things. More tomorrow, I need sleep.
