I can't imagine looking at the NYC skyline from Sandy Hook and not seeing the twin towers. It hasn't sunk into my brain yet. It has, but it hasn't.

So far as I can tell, no one I know was actually there, but I'm still practically holding my breath on some people.

I have to say I'm surprised we didn't get something like this sooner from terrorists. I am in shock that it happened though. I've cried several times, once for possibilities, once for those who I don't know, and once for relief. And now I just wait.

It just points out how idiotic we are to have our supposed military headquarters in a distinctive building identifiable from space.

I'm going to go back to being in shock.

So, I've gone through all my classes now. This semester is going to be a lot of work. A lot of work. The worst, though, is going to be my substance abuse and the family class. It's going to have me work through a whole lot of shit that I don't necessarily feel like dealing with.

It's not that there have been issues per se in my blood kin. More with the people around me who I've considered as close as family can be. There are people I know with whom I'm still very hurt and angry with as a result of their actions with regards to substance abuse and the like. One person who hurts my almost siblings consistently and constantly with her actions. Another is someone I feel I lost to substances; who just stopped caring, and even though I couldn't take the drama anymore, I wish him the best and hope he's still alive.

The other classes don't look to be quite as emotionally taxing. Just a lot of reading. The ethics discussions look to be interesting, but the text keeps putting me to sleep. Abnormal psych is just a lot of reading. Interesting reading, but it's going to be cumbersome to have everything read on time. And Family Counseling is going to be a lot of in class work for a demanding teacher, though I think he's great, who will expect nothing less than the best on any given night. No slacking at all this semester.

I hope I find time to sleep.

So, okay. I made a vow that I wasn't going to stress about this semester. And for the most part, it's been working. For the most part. It's been difficult because I've still been sick. My tongue is burnt from all the cough drops I've been chomping on to stay silent in class, I'm tired because of the racking and hacking and not being able to sleep.

I finally broke down and went to the doctor. Bronchitis. They gave me something called Zithromax which is an antibiotic that's only 6 pills over 5 days. I can feel it working already. It feels like someone hit my system with a sledgehammer. But I'm also coughing less and was able to nap for a few hours today. Good restful sleep.

But in the back of my head, I'm thinking about how this may have all set me back already. I know that I didn't work my full 10 hours this week for Gonzalo (though I'm thrilled there's going to be another assistant other than me) and two hours at home today? Yeah, right. I've been dealing with side effects from the drugs. I just hope I can catch back up and soon. I should go off and read instead of playing here. There's really no margin for error this semester. I have to keep up, and I have to do it now.

It's enough to give me a headache already. *deep breath* *hack* *hack* *hack*

@>-`-->----

AT&T has finally gotten over their Code Red scare, and have finally graced us with the return of port 80! Those of you who had been reading or browsing through https, that's no longer necessary. :) Thanks for keeping up despite the difficulties. Apparently there are still Code Red Hits, but it's not like it's all over the place.
