Hey, kids. So, my CMU account goes kaput tomorrow. I won't be able to update this page after that, so, this is it. Don't worry, though, I'll be back eventually at sarahandtim.com. So you can keep up with my so incredibly exciting life. Kay bye.

I'm still sick. It's my last day at work, and I was going to come in tomorrow anyway to turn in some forms and update my "replacement" on what I've been doing the past 3 months, so I'm goofing off, and kind of hoping to leave early.

Anyway, this morning I went to the grocery store to get more Vitamin C. My favorite source of Vitamin C is lemonade, because not only does it strengthen my immune system, it helps soothe a sore throat. I prefer lemonade that's mostly made out of lemons. Yesterday, I got this "strawberry lemonade" which wasn't lemonade at all but rather lemon-flavored grape juice. I hate grape juice. Plus it really doesn't help your throat. So today I got this super Odwalla Lemonade, which is very nummy and makes my throat feel all tingly. But I saw that they had a Vitamin C drink, so I looked to see how much Vitamin C it provided. Turns out it's 2000% of the Daily Recommended Value!! 2000%!!!! 20 times what you should get in a day!! People!! Don't get more than your DRV of any vitamin!! Too much Vitamin C can lead to kidney stones.

Listen people, here's a short, quick Public Service Announcement on why you shouldn't overload on vitamins:

  1. Your body is a very complex machine, regulated and balanced by a number of tiny little things.
  2. Upset that balance, and you're in for trouble.

Yes, I know lots of people don't get enough vitamins and minerals, including me. But I don't think people realize that you can have too much of them too. Here is a great resource on what foods contain needed vitamins, and what happens if you have to little or too much. Check it out. Before I have to tell you the horror stories.

I'm kind of sad. The Sanford Medical Center, where I will soon begin working, is having money troubles, like a lot of teaching hospitals are these days. I just received news that they're already getting rid of a few departments (or, rather "transition them to alternative programs in the community"). While I doubt they'll get rid of something as important as the Bone MArrow Transplant Program, and while technically we're a part of the School of Medicine and not the Medical Center itself, I'm still pretty worried about this. rawr.

The worst part about today is that I'm sick. This is the worst I've felt since moving to California. I'm hoping copious amounts of Vitamin C will help me. The best part about today is that, when people heard that I was leaving, they were really upset. "I wish you could stay!" they keep saying. That makes me feel super.

The temp job I am at currently is over on Wednesday. That's okay, though, because my boss here recommended me for another job in the department, doing data entry in the Bone Marrow Transplant Program at the Medical Center. It sounds pretty cool. The best part is, they're paying me more. And I get about a week and a half off before I start training for that job. Whee!

When I was little I wanted to be a judge. I thought it would be so cool to be in charge of a court room, and working for justice for the everyday citizen. I still think it would be neat, but I recognize now how difficult it is to work in the judicial system. I mean, honestly, if these two people walked into my courtroom and wanted babies that they had "adopted" over the internet, I'd have say no, too. Take a look for yourself.

Since Blogger has been on and off the past couple of days, and the contrib server has been down more than it's been up, I've refrained from even trying to update. I sorry.

But the weather's great, I'm getting a refund from the IRS, I biked 5 whole miles in Santa Cruz, hiked through some of Muir Woods, had wine at Beringer, watched Live Robot Sumo Wrestling, and all kinds of neat stuff. Now if I can just find some time to take a nap, life would be perfect.
