The Dad is all stressed about buying a Tivo/ReplayTV etc where he can hack the output stream and burn his own DVDS. Based on basic searches on the net, this is already very achievable right niw, but I think he (and many others) are really missing the point.

One of the Napster lessons we've learned was that permanence is a total fucking illusion. Owning the CD means you've got a five cent piece of plastic with a moderately interesting set of bumps and grooves. It also means you paid your HARD EARNED MONEY for music that you ACTUALLY DON'T WANT.

Clearly, the average human being still has fully understand the Napster revolution because they're mindlessly stuck behind a 57k modem thinking "Life is good". Resist the urge to slap these folks because, well, they're paying the bills
