remember my dsl troubles? well... check this out, last wednesday cablevision (my local cable company) calls and says I can finally get cable internet! So I immediately place the order for service. Modem arrives friday, everything is all set. Mess with it all weekend trying to get it to work.. finally I get a call from cablevision saying: "Cable is not available in your area yet, but you can keep the modem" (the modem i paid for). What a joke....

Early today the fire alarm in my building goes off while im trying to get ready... So i run downstairs and talk to a few people who say its just the power trouble we had last night. ( power went out during the storm.) Fine, I go back home. Alarm goes off a few more times through out the day... Briefly though, before I could even step out of my apartment. Just now though, the fire alarm goes on and stays on... At first im like let me wait it out... Then I think about "the boy who cried wolf" and look out the window to see firemen already running around... Its over now. Fire alarm finally turns off and we all go home again. Just another false alarm I guess. I will not hesitate again tho, no matter how many times it goes off by mistake.

(Waiting for that alarm to go off is a nightmare. I can't even imagine the panic at the wtc...)
