I went to see Ghost World on Friday. It’s a really great movie with a very bitter and cynical view of life. The art class scenes are worth the price of admission alone.

Where do you go for clothes if you are a large, uncaring and insensitive man? Big Tall Direct, of course. I’ve only yet received links to (hopefully) sincere but tacky web pages. But this one really makes you wonder what these people were thinking. Even X10, the despised pioneers of the "pop-under" ad, showed some class this last week. [unknown news, fark]

If that last post seemed insensitive, it's really not meant to be. On a shallow level, I found it pretty funny. But if you want a deep meaning, consider it a way of using one extreme to show how dumb I think it is for people to use this tragedy to push forward their own pet cause.

There’s really not much left to say. It's terrible to see that sort of thing happen in North America. For all of our whining, bickering and self-martyrdom, we seem to get along with each other just fine. I’d rather have all of our trivial lawsuits and angry protests than the type of war that takes place in other countries.
I just wish we could put a stop to the televised news for a little while. There hasn’t been any new information in about 10 hours and it’s still non-stop on just about every channel. I worry that we're all becoming desensitized to the fact that thousands of people died today. If anything, CNN is just going to get us all seething for a war before we have time to determine any actual facts. Everyone needs to realize that a handful of Palestinian kids on the street don't speak for their nation any more than a bunch of idiots in white hoods speak for ours. It's pure propaganda and it’s just going to make us do something reckless.
