This was a public service announcement by Marcus, because he took the day off work to be sick and needed something to amuse him. Too much free time makes Marcus something something.
Went down the Lagan in a boat last night for Barry's leavin' do. It takes two hours - one hour up and one down, but we had booze and dodgy music to entertain us.
We stopped off at a bar half-way up, which involved climbing up a ladder while mildly intoxicated... and down it again after having an extra Aftershock. Then, while it was turning, the boat hit something and get everyone a bit of a shock as it tipped to one side a good bit for a split-second.
I won £3 in the "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire" video game off my first 50p, but unfortunately lost the chance to collect and had to play it all away. Bastarding thing.
It seems my glands weren't swollen just for fun last night and, as always when I drink while the cold's going about, my immune system gave in and I woke with an annoyingly runny nose. Everyone else in my family got it worse already, so until now I'd been braving it out as the sole well person in the house. Oh well.
Have to be up and out early to hand my nicely finished, spiral-bound dissertation in on time tomorrow. I'm more than glad that it's all finished with. Well, except that I'm continuing to fiddle with the system at work. Argh.
I have a small PHP Blogger (etc.) comments system in the works called digiBlab. It's based on my digiBar code, but simpler, with the necessary bit of being able to reference multiple data files. It's meant as a local system to download (One small file can't be all bad. It may need to be two, if javascript gets involved.)
There's not much to look at presently, but you can have a peek here.
All that I need to do, to finish it off, is to add some CSS and a directory variable. I dunno if people would actually need it though.
My practical demonstration just finished there now and it seemed to go a hell of a lot better than my other presentation. Even though up until yesterday I had assumed it was next Thursday.
The other assessor (apart from my supervisor) was friendly, for a change, and failed on all accounts when he tried to break the system. *glee* So he said it was very good, and my supervisor has give nothing but praise for my "Web Tendering Facility" recently.
These are good things because it's these two that give me the majority of my marks - 40% on the dissertation, 40% on the program and 10% on the practical demonstration.
By the end of the week, when I hand in my dissertation, all my University stuff will be done... and then I'll be onto my next worry.
I had to give a presentation on my dissertation this morning. It was assessed. I don't think it went brilliantly as I was all over the place, Powerpoint decided to screw me at the start, my mouth dried up making me sound like I had a mad speech impediment and they pretty much said it was boring. Hey, at least it's over.
your pixelated vision of the twin towers in fire is as dramatic as the real thing. one more thing to burry in our collective mind. on a brighter note your links rule more than Peaches itself live. You must know that!TTFN!
