Always Waiting...

Some days I just want to run away and hide. I can insulate myself from the tragedy for only small amounts of time and then it all comes tumbling back. Airliners turned into instruments of doom and all the passengers sacrificed....... for what? Some twisted reason that we will never figure out? This was an attack on not only the US but also the 40+ countries who had citizens in NY at the time. I can only shake my head and think how senseless it all is.

We'll never be the same.

God Bless America..... God Bless Earth....

The World Trade Center no longer exists. What in the world can make people hate So much that they have to kill and terrorize? All in the name of religion? I think not! I am appalled, sickened, sad, horrified..... scared.....

We spoke to Kirk's folks, they live on Long Island. They have military jets flying overhead and no way to get off the island even if they wanted to. We are eternally grateful that no one in Kirk's family works in Manhattan anymore..... his sister used to work in the financial district and his father near the WTC. YIKES! Too darn close for comfort.

Prayers for those who were injured and killed, prayers for the families who are touched by this tragedy, prayers that hatred of this kind is eliminated so that no others have to suffer, prayers that our country can come out of this stronger and smarter.

I really believe that I'm being way too hard on myself, but I can't help but feel frustrated by my employment situation and the state of the tech world in general. My job isn't all that bad. The money is ok, the hours are ok, I'm even getting to where the vault doesn't bother me as much as it use to. It's just not what I want to be doing with my life and my education. Where did all that go? I'm not ready to give up on it, but it's so difficult to break into the system. It would be 100% easier if I lived in San Francisco or the south bay, but I don't and I don't wish to commute and give up that time with my family. My priorities are set, nothing I can do to change it, my family time is precious.... if I were 30 something I might be more flexible. Now that I'm getting to be an old woman I want to spend more time with my family members...... LOL!
So it goes.... I'll keep looking, sending out resumes and hoping for a break. Hope it happens before I'm too old to do anything about it!

Well, it seems there have been no thoughts running through my mind for awhile, or maybe I just didn't get a chance to commit them to print. Work is, well, work. I have a couple of good days, some computer equipment to work on and then I have several bad days, where I have to work in the dungeon.

I'm actively looking again for the tech job of my dreams, whatever that is! Until such time though, I'll be shuffling papers at Home Depot. Maybe I should think about becoming a kitchen designer. I've had the offer! Depending on how the next few days go I may just interview for it! I've always wanted to do design and this would give me a chance to learn a cad program as well. Hmmmmmmmm! Something to think about. The thing I'm waiting for is to hear about a supervisory position that I interviewed for over the weekend. I'll find out tomorrow what the outcome is and then I'll make my decision. Couldn't hurt to have a back-up plan!

There are days when I just don't think I should have gotten up. Today being one of them. I like my new job at Home Depot, in the computer room. They have decided that we all need to cross train.... me in the vault and my co-horts in the computer room. Well, that's not a bad thing in itself, however it's not being done in any co-ordinated fashion. I was supposed to "train" in the vault today by myself and Janice in the computer room, by hherself.... now I ask you where is the sense in that? We both need someone's guidance at this point. I guess I should come up with a plan. Perhaps the boss will see the logic in having a trainor as well as a trainee!!! THINK????? DUH!

Well, here it is! The newest member of our family. I finally got tired of things falling off my Cougar, the windows don't work, the steering is going out and the straw..... well, my husband couldn't get out of the passenger side door!! So, we bought a Dodge Dakota! I LOVE it!!! Feels good to drive a truck again.

Alexa came to play.... she stole our hearts! We are so fortunate to have this precious little girl in our family. She is being raised and protected by her grandmother, Krissica and two of her uncles, Manny and Alex. They are a great family! Such a pleasure to have around. I just wish that they lived closer..... but alas, there are reasons they live so far away.
I can't wait for the next visit. Another chance to love and be loved.... isn't that what life is all about?
