Tuesday
The Ordo Templi Orientis, something I've really just begun to begin to understand, sends their condolences to all who lost loved ones in the terrorist attack. Monday Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan spoke denouncing the terrorist attacks, "Indeed, this was an act of war. The leadership of America and the people of America are justly angry. We agree with President Bush that there must be an appropriate response, but anger and wounded pride must not determine what the appropriate response should be.'' "As Muslims, the greatest thing we can do right now is pray because it looks like this war could take American soldiers into Muslim countries and many innocent Muslims could die." Dr Laura said today on the radio that the American Civil Liberties Union is "directly" to blame for the terrorist attacks on the wtc with their dissidence of "Carnivore", the government's snoopware program written to conduct electronic surveillance of e-mail and Internet communications, allegedly selective in only invading the terrorist's privacy, not the citizen's. Interview with Osama Bin Ladin (via megnut) Stocks Set for Rocky Start After Attacks Sell! Sell! Sell! Sell! All of it, get rid of it! Sunday Do you believe bin Laden? An Afghan-American speaks, "You can't bomb us back into the Stone Age. We're already there. But you can start a new world war, and that's exactly what Osama bin Laden wants." Don't go overboard, "Improving our security shouldn't mean undermining our freedom. " Bin Laden Denies Responsibility, "We have been blamed in the past, but we were not involved" Afghani women activists' (RAWA) statement Statement from the War Resisters League Middle East calls upon US to steer clear of anti-Arab crusade Domestic Anti-Arab Backlash Gathers Steam Bias Incidents Against Arabs Increase there was an m&m in my bag of skittles, but i swallowed it before i could prove it to anyone and now no one believes me Saturday "Americans Simply Don't Get It" This was a good post: "I am all for patriotism. But blind patriotism, and faith in leaders without questioning their judgement can only lead down a dangerous path. ..." Friday "God Bless The U.S.A., a Song for our Country" It's so bad. What makes me so nervous is that both Democrats and Republicans are behind Bush. "I say, bomb the hell out of them," Sen. Zell Miller, D-Ga., said Wednesday. "If there's collateral damage, so be it. They certainly found our civilians to be expendable." Most Afghans don't own televisions, or get newspapers. They aren't involved with politics. It's likely that they haven't even been informed yet of what happened Tuesday. They are in the middle of a three year drought and over 5 million people are on the edge of starvation. These are our bad guys. Thursday CBSNEWS POLL: Should U.S. Retaliate Even If Innocent People Are Killed? YES 66% NO 20% That's fucking sick. Wednesday "There is something insanely attractive about the sight of smoke billowing out of the WTC from a street perspective on CNN--its so unlike movies. Finally a tiny dose of apocalypse in Manhattan after seeing it over and over again in crappy Hollywood films. And the key images will be around forever, lauded, and so saturated with emotional Americana that the event loses part of its reality. The oklahoma city bombing turned into an image of the firefighter holding a burned baby. Today we're watching the event that is made for spectacularization get spectacularized. They are comparing this to JFK getting shot and Pearl Harbour. 50 years from now the equivalent of Ben Affleck will play a WTC stock broker who saves twenty people from the collapsing WTC." "The spectacle is already hard a work re-appropriating this morning's attack. it has been named: "Attack on America". it has been edited: shot of tower 1 burning, second plane wraps around and into tower 2, shot of tower 2 collapsing, shot of tower 1 collapsing, shot of debris and people running through the streets. bite sized chunks, easily digestable catch phrases. propaganda. commodity." "And did you hear the nutty militarism of some people connected with the US government? "if it is a state...we will put it out of business" Yes, naturally any organization responsible for this knows that its discovery means its effective annihilation, but isn't that the point? They knew that, that's why these were SUICIDE crashings, a la the kamikazes in WWII." "more importantly, the attack has been "faced." before the dust had settled, literally, "bin laden" and "taliban" were staples of network coverage. the fires are still burning, unlikely survivors are still trapped and 8 hours have yet to pass, assuring us that any possible investigation into who's responsible is extremely young and clueless, yet we've already been given "bin laden". cbs, cnn, abc, all interview "experts on terrorism" who "alledge" bin laden involvement while coyly adding in "if he is responsible" at the end while #3's footage rolls in loop, then a full screen photo of bin laden is plastered across the screen. the message is clear: "if we fail to find a face, this is the face."" Tuesday hey riothero: Do you think it was the Palestinians? Mandias: Even if it's not, I've never understood why we tolerate their shit. Mandias: I mean, look at the guns their using. If there's anything Counterstrike has taught us, it's that the bad guys use AK47s. Mandias: What guns do the Israelis use? Colts. And the Palestinians? AKs. Mandias: Duh. This guy's even responsibile for selling these teeshirts. Don't hit me, hit him. www.wtc-top.com was a website featuring the latest webcam image from the top of the World Trade Center. Of course, it is offline. At 9:00 someone turned the television on, I pretty much saw all of it as it happened. At first I didn't think it was going to be much, an accidental plane crash i thought, but then news flash after news flash. How can I comment? I don't know today when they principal came on the announcements and asked for a moment of silence, i actually said a prayer. usually i fart ...911 a date which will live in infamy Monday Look we've got a safe home named after ourselves. Sunday All of the cash I've amassed from my job as cashier this summer I've kept scattered everywhere. yesterday since I knew I had a savings account already with some money in it, I figured I'd do a very smart thing by taking what I had and depositing it. I got there and the woman pulled up my account. She said Are you aware that your balance is negative? I said no I was not aware. I was not aware that my balance was negative, what are you talking about woman? She said I owed the bank one-hundred and eighty dollars, and she hit a button underneath the counter so her manager would come out. I bet the cops were on their way too. I was real scared. There must have been five hundred dollars in there, how could I have lost it all AND still owed them money? Finally the woman asks to see my drivers license, and sighs. And says she pulled up the wrong account. Silly her. Her, the manager, and I, laughed and laughed and laughed. Saturday "Michael Jackson and 'N Sync on the same stage at the same time, and I'm thinking- Damn! One good hand grenade and I'd be a happy man. Talk about missed opportunities." MTV Video Music Awards Friday i now am manager of my high school's boy varsity soccer team. my job is to fill up the water cooler, and carry it and the team's equipment down to the field. Thursday the homework i turned it as mine written by Mary: A family is anything that induces an environment of familiarity to an individual by providing housing, food, clothing, support in all forms, comfort, strength and love. Traditionally, familial live was characterized under ridged structure, usually a married couple with children living under one roof. With the changing perceptions of an evolving society, "family" became a term with virtually no boundaries. The progressing world has suffered, certain to an extent, a moral fallout causing formality and structure in families to decline. Considering family exist under most any conditions, the only source of dysfunction would be a failure to provide the things necessary for functioning life in addition to love and comfort. Although it is arguable that the same liberal morals that allowed expansion in physical elements of families have brought with them a weaker social contract, meaning a great occurrence for collapses in the conditions that define families. I still believe that a family can function under all circumstances keeping only intact the idea that all things can be overcome. well, i got my license revoked! Wednesday This watch I took off of Mary and brought home, the one I wear every day, the one that remains set on misery time, the one that is water resistant for a depth of one hundred meters, is like something I stole from a dream. I try so hard all the time in dreams to bring back items to the real life. I've never done it though. This watch is nice. 3wk is what cool RM listens to.
