My God. Ted Kennedy is getting so huge! I watched his speech last night and he, like, didn't fit in my television. He's an argument for rapid adoption of 16x9 widescreen televisions. I couldn't believe how massive he was. He makes Raymond Burr look svelte. He looked like Eddie Murphy wearing his Klumps suit or like that old Dick Tracy villain, Little Face.
That is all.

I can't believe it. He
was arguably the biggest hawk of the GHW Bush administration and he's
deeply entangled in the oil industry. The Demos are going to have a
field day with this guy! He's Dr. Frickin' Evil! Seems like this
throws the Shrub's "compassionate conservatism" right out the window.
There's no way he can move to the center with an ideologue like Cheney
on the ticket. I'm thinking this dog don't hunt.
My theory: it's a week before the convention and nobody else would take the job because they smell the sour stench of failure all over the Shrub and so, since Cheney himself was orchestrating the search for a running mate, Bushes Jr. and Sr. basically guilted him into taking the job. Cheney had this to say (way back!) in May re: public life:
"I have absolutely no desire to go back to government. I've done that. I am set in my ways at my stage. I'm 59, and I didn't leave anything in Washington. I have no plan, intention, desire, under any circumstances to return to government."If he can change his mind this quickly about something as important as taking over for the president if he gets shot, what else will he change his mind about? Also, Cheney is not electable to the office of president. Period. Methinks the Republican elite have basically decided that the Shrub won't be building any GOP dynasties up there in the executive branch.

It's funny; babelfish says that 'Kraftwerk' (as one word) means 'power station'. As two words though, it's 'strength factory'. That's cool. Explains this episode's title.

A well-known web shop has been sued, apparently for doing a crappy job. I guess the client took the first of their core values to heart.
