Yesterday was my birthday. I feel old. Well, no, I feel like I always do, which is to say, like I need about two more hours of sleep a day than I actually get.
And now, some picks from my links collection... First we've got The Brunching Shuttlecocks, a humor group, noted for such features as 'Pikachewy' and the Self-Made Critic.
Next, there's Know Your Enemy, a feature on 'black-hat' hackers, the article that's had Pakistan's most l337 h@x0r5 slapping their foreheads for the better part of a week. Apparently a security group set up a box specifically designed to lure in hackers, so that they could watch the attacks in motion... And the hacker group was stupid enough to, after penetrating the security, install an IRC-bot to protect their ownership of a channel. Of course, having the IRC-bot installed meant that the security group could now log everything discussed by the so-called hackers...
And for the humorist in all of us, there's The Scopes 'Monkey Trial', or 'A 1925 Media Circus'. Fun for the whole family! A classic example of defenestration! A history lesson! But wait! There's more!
For more solid reading, there's Bookface, where you can find books and such, as well as a pair of scripts from un-produced episodes of the doomed television science fiction series Crusade.
There. Go. Enjoy.
