Consider donating blood or donating money to help out with disaster relief. But remember: if "charities" are contacting you by phone or e-mail asking you to give them money for disaster relief, be suspicious. There are lots of phone and Internet scams going on right now, trying to get people to donate money. (An example.) When in doubt, go straight to the redcross.org web site, or call your local chapter. Better safe, than sorry. . Public Service Announcements
I'm sorry to say that I still don't have any pictures (except for three of my boquet that was taken on a friend's digital camera). It seems that with my dad being in the hospital (blood clot in his leg, he's gotta give himself shots in the stomach now *shudder) and the horrid events of last week, none of my family has gotten pictures developed and in the mail to me yet. Or if they have, the packages are slowly making their way to me. All very understandable. And the photographer said that they could expect their pictures back in a week or so from their studio, and then he'd mail them off to me so I didn't have to drive the 134 miles to pick them up. So I'm hoping for those at the end of this week, or the beginning of next. I promise that as soon as I get some that I can scan, I'll do so and show off. I'm actually looking forward to that. (This from the web mistress who has only once had photos up of herself...does anyone actually even remember that?)

Making things harder (and other ramblings)

I seem to enjoy making things harder than they actually are. This was pointed out to me last night when talking to a friend online who wants to call me sometime. The relatively simple question was put to me, when would be a good time to call? The relatively simple answer is Thursday, when I don't have class. But I proceeded to list off the times when I'm at home, when I'm at work, why one time doesn't work and another does. Blah. Finally it hits me, "Just say 'Thursday', dumbass."
Advice: If you curse the darkness, but dont light a candle... Shut the fuck up. (variation by Eric)
Ok, I've been bitching quite a lot tonight to friends. Hell, I've just been complaining a lot in general. Gotta stop doing that. There's no use whining about stuff if I could actually solve the problem on my own. So get off your ass, Nicki, and just do it!
My list today is short, but involves several huge projects. One, start the thank you notes. I'm not sure how many of them there are, but there are a lot. Two, study. More like read, but I'll try to turn it into studying anyway. I'm still playing a bit of catch up from the wedding, but in class yesterday I felt pretty smart because I'd already read the material he was covering. A new experience, I think I liked it. I'll have to do it more often. I think that's it in the way of things to do. Wish me luck. :)
I'm thinking of opening up this log for all the hostees. I want an interactive forum (such as a message board) where I can really talk about all this stuff that is going on right now. But once I open it up, I can't go back. What to do, what to do...
