The Foothill on Cherry in Signal Hill - good bands Saturday nights - be there around 11. Expensive mixed drinks and cover charge.

36/36 on Broadway in Belmont Heights - dive. Has great (strong) drinks - they'll do ya up good. Diana the bartender is excellent. Mixed (agewise/personality types) crowd.
Blue Cafe - Downtown L.B. Great music, food and drinks. Has cover charge. Very crowded on weekends. Hip crowd.
PJ's (Panama Joes) Restaurant and bar. Music: live bands on weekends. good drinks, no cover. Atmosphere varies (better when Stephanie is there).
