It's mine! It's mine!

And I am excited.

And the verdict is ~ Blueberry Black.
Noticeable in bright natural light, not so much in low light.

It's all good.

I was supposed to work today but owing to a supplier losing a work order there was nothing I could do.
But what a relief. While I would have liked to have finished this particular task today, I also needed to pay some attention to the apartment.
I think the dishes were being to move around on their own.

Oh and I had to clean out Max's bowl.
I still can't believe I got that attached to such a wee little fish.

Also needed to do a bit of a touch-up on my hair. I've chosen Blueberry as my color this time.

It seems quite 'blue' right now and I am hoping that this will tone down once I rinse the dye out.

Oh boy, do I ever hope.

Max died sometime last night.
He was alive when I got home and dead this morning when I got up.

I don't know what happened and I feel awful.

Some fool I've been talking to about doing some work for us has been sending me emails about the Worst Computer Virus ever and how a leg-less, arm-less, head-less little girl in the Ukraine will be saved if I forward this message to 100 of my closest friends.

At my work address.

Not disguising his mailing list of 500 names/addresses.

After I had asked him repeatedly to not do this.

So now I have messages coming from people all over trying to sell me shit, forwarding more useless virus warnings and stupid wishes that Bill Gates will send me money.

Sure I called him up and gave him what-for. I also signed him up for the Backstreet Boys newsletter.

Bwah-hahaha.. as evil as I want to be.

Thank you, Tom.

For talking about action vs. reaction to this horrendeous event.

I am trying to comprehend the magnitude of what has happened in the United States today.
And failing miserably.

I just can't seem to grasp that sheer amount of needless suffering and destruction that has occurred. I am too far removed and it's just too surreal.

I work in a building that houses the American Consulate for Vancouver and when I arrived at work today there were police in the lobby. I forget that the Consulate is in our building from time to time (read: days when there aren't protests) and so didn't immediately put the police presence together with the attacks in the States.
When my co-workers started to arrive at the office, a different story started to drift up from the lobby.

The building was going to stay open.

The building was going to be evacuated.

After discussion we were leaning to offering the people the choice of staying at work or leaving if they wanted to.
This lasted about 15 minutes before the decision was made to shut down building services and everyone was asked to leave.

So we grabbed what work we could and left. The newpaper reporters and television crews were arriving - so we left area and went for breakfast.

I still cannot believe it...

For those wondering, my parents were on their way out of Toronto on their regular run to the West Coast. They got to within 30 kilometres of the U.S. border and decided to turn around and run through Canada instead.

I am so relieved.

Oh my gosh. Not one but two jets have crashed into the World Trade Centre in New York City. Go to CNN or try the New York Post for updates today. The FBI is pursuing leads that the planes were hijacked and were used in a suicide attempt.

*sigh*. It makes me so weary to even think about this.

I am going to work.

Arrghh...still at work, with a ton of calls I have to make and Telus is having a 'service disruption' in our area.

I can only dial out to select numbers from my desk phone. Same with my personal phone.
But I know the minute I leave - poof.. all phone problems solved.

I am giving it 45 more minutes before I am outta here!

Mmm..was really excited to go into work all weekend and got a huge amount of work done.
But now it's Monday morning and I can't quite work up any enthusiasm for the office.

I should probably get off this computer, get my lazy ass dressed and haul it down to the office to get this day on with.
*yawn*

And I am so wide awake, right now.

Which is bad because I have to be at work in a few hours.
