i had a dream i was partying at my old school teachers place and my car was stolen overnight. i looked around it and there were all these old cameras and such they ditched to make room for my camera.

and there was pizza at the party.

When i called 911, i made the woman on the phone laugh and i thought she was cute.

Things that add stress to my fairly non-stressful life:

  • smoking

  • drugs

  • going to bed late

  • awkardness of being a teenager (right...)

  • idiots

Had i not drank coffee earlier, i would be in bed. I need to get a schedule working. That'd help me immensely.
Smoking cigarettes makes me itch the next day.

SXSW was a pretty good time. It was wonderful to finally see, maybe not meet, all these great people who write great weblogs. I was nervous, it was almost as if i saw the beatles walking around. My knees shook, i sweated, vomited, and introduced myself. Conversations with these folks didnt last too long.

I attended several interesting panels at sxsw:

  • Design panel with Zeldman, Veen, and Crotty-Fraser
  • Weblog panel with Meg Hourihan, of blogger fame
  • Microcontent (still not too sure what this is) with Jason Kottke, and some guy from moreover
  • Broadband panel with Edmond Sanctis (ex- nbci COO) and others
  • Wireless apps
  • How to evaluate a company before you sign on - pretty cool information in this panel.
  • Freelance nation - about doing freelance work. This was a very cool panel with some very professional freelancers.
  • How to start your own business, with Jeanne Fraser, Meg Hourihan, etc. This was my favorite panel. The panelists bared all to tell us what mistakes they made, as well as what theyve done right.

I saw Alison Headley a few times, but chickened out of talking with her and her gauntlet of guy-friends. It's a shame she didn't win the weblog award.

I was sifting through all the links i wrote down during the SXSW panels. Among the coolest, openCOLA and webBrain

Lately i've been questioning myself... Am i bold enough? Is making chit-chat important? Or is that all just cover? I need to surround with more of the california-type people, or just move the hell out there. You know the type, always honest, trying to find out whats going on in your head, etc. I hate to say it, but thats the way i'd be if it werent for the other people around me that are so into the whole faux feelings thing.

I heard meg say in a blog panel that 'a blog will fail miserably if you arent totally honest all the time. I know this has been a problem of mine forever. I have just been posting links and a little crappy commentary. I can change.

At work, i primarily do ColdFusion, but the boss has had me doing some ASP and Perl. I have done these languages in the past, i understand them, but i can't work quickly with them. For the past 2 days, i have been trudging along through very petty asp/perl tasks that an actual asp/perl developer would laugh at. I guess you could say i am bungling these jobs, This makes me feel like a slow worker.

oh yeah, i bought a digital camera a week or so ago.

I woke today at 2:45, got a call from vega. I showered and met vega at the cosmic cafe. It was such a badass day i drove with the sunroof open and windows down. Kickass.

Vega and i split up, and i drove to steve and amandas place... hung out there for a while, now i'm at work.
