Santa brought Clyde a new collar and new leash (both a very pretty blue) and doggy treats in a very cute tin -- all from Planet Dog. She also got some tennis balls (those came from Walgreens). Woo hoo!

Nothing really new on the dog front. I hurt my knee a little bit running, so we've been laying off that for a while (but gradually starting again). Clyde's been on some pretty fantastic morning trips up to the top of Buena Vista park, though. That's all for now!

Clyde is exercising with me in the morning. She actually made it five miles on Sunday! Maybe she'll try it again. It might sound like a small feat for a golden retriever, but in reality Clyde's a pretty lazy, princess-like dog (that is laying next to me on the couch carefully grooming herself as a write this). For instance, yesterday she lagged behind and did foolish things that made me have to run after her too many times. We had to turn around and go home early. Tomorrow, though, I am bound to make it a roaring success. I also ordered her Christmas presents, but I think I'm going to keep that a secret until after Santa comes. (And the tree will be decorated soon, I promise!)

We've switched back to the old camera, which you might notice has lesser quality output. We're working on a better solution.

We went to Soda Springs for Thanksgiving and we'll post pictures of Clyde playing in the snow soon.

We're having some technical difficulties here at thatdoggieinthewindow.com HQ. The computer which posts the clyde cam image was infected with a virus and we had to completely clear the disk. For some reason the cam program crashes now after one upload, resulting in one picture per day. Our team of highly trained IT monkeys is working on this issue and we should be back in business within a day or two.

The entire staff at thatdoggieinthewindow.com HQ is sorry for this inconvenience, and all account fees for this month will be refunded.

Today Clyde was sacked out all day. I'm not kidding. Shelley went for a run with her this morning and that is the last time I've seen her awake. Several times today I've heard her claws clicking while she dream runs, and at some point she gave a sleepy half bark at some dream ground hog or sombrero wearing person, but other than that it has been nothing but nap.

On October the 15th, Clyde will be the Petsmart Smart Pet of the Day. Though I would like to claim that the world has finally realized Clyde's greatness, there is a very low overhead for entering. You just run your dog through a short series of college entrance exams and the best dog wins. OK, that is a lie. To enter you just send in a photo and an explaination of why your dog is the smartest of them all.

Clyde woke me up with her jumping jacks this morning. Trevor didn't believe me, but I swear that she was jumping up and down and waving her legs above her head next to my bed this morning while I was trying to grab those few precious moments of "extra" sleep while Trevor was occupying the bathroom. Trevor thought she might have been scratching behind her ear, shaking her fur (which rattles her collar), and rubbing back and forth along the bed. I'm still convinced it was jumping jacks.
