I've got all of my groomsmen accounted for, but I can still torture Jules with this until around December 20th!

Weekend highlights and lowlights:
- Jules and I went to the Michigan Renaissance Festival on Saturday and had a good time, even though the festival seems to be becoming, as Julie puts it, "White Trash Disneyland." If you go for any reason, go to see Don Juan and Miguel. If you cannot enjoy yourself, enjoy someone else.
- Proof that there is such a thing as the Second Foundation -- Dann and I came up with the same idea independently of each other. Check out his thoughts as well as the rest of the Imploding Cat web site.
- In thinking about my upcoming wedding, and co-existence with the Julie, I'm convinced more than ever that it's the best decision I've ever made.

Pretty lazy Labor day weekend, complete with lots of college and pro football and barbeque wrangling. I got 8 steaks for 16 bucks at Gordon Food Service and so we fried a few of those up. I didn't see much of the Julie, though, as she was out and about over those few days.

Battlebots!
Ugh. 7 hours on phones yesterday, then back 12 hours later for 8 more.

Weekend highlights and lowlights:
- Jules and I went to see Godzilla 2000 Saturday; the dubbing and translations were poor, just the way I like my Godzilla. "Regenerator G-1!" **1/2
- The River changed formats to "Detroit's Light Rock." Totally bogus. Great, more songs from Disney soundtracks! That had been my favorite station. Now you can't even get into their web site.
- Some moron was trying to sell me hot speakers out of a van while I waited in line at the bank; said idiot then got pissed when I said No for the third time.

Allen and I saw The Cell last night. Equal parts disturbing imagery, special effects and somewhat formulaic plot... Jennifer Lopez' ass is not as big as made out to believe, but it's hard to take her seriously in some roles. This is kinda one of those roles. **1/2 (two and a half out of five stars).

It's over, and Richard stunned us all by taking home the million on Survivor. Kelly did make it to the very end with him, though. I thought I'd be cheesed that Machiabelly survived, but considering most of us thought he'd be the first from his tribe to go with his "let's talk" shtick in episode one, you have to give him props. Plus he sounds much more genuine afterwards. Makes you wonder how much of the footage was edited to make Rich the villain.

Darcy introduced me to the intricacies of General Hospital. She prefers the old Lucky over the new one. I'm still undecided, of course. I'm a bit more geeked about the Survivor finale tonight. I think it's impossible to predict a winner, but my sentimental pick would be Kelly, the most likable person left (and that ain't saying much.)
