Fight for your right to standards!

We are not afraid On the news the night before last I saw a small, handwritten sign that someone had put up overlooking the Beltway near where I live. It said simply, "We are not afraid." I've been rolling that brief, yet extremely powerful message over in my mind for the last couple days, and it seems to be one of the most appropriate and strongest responses to recent events that I think we can send. We may be in pain, and have suffered enormous losses -- but we are not afraid.

I'm back home from San Francisco now. WEB2001 was a load of fun, but looking back I probably should have taken a camera, because now I have wait for everyone else to post theirs.

Laura and I just got home from seeing Planet of the Apes, and I feel it's my civic duty to warn anyone reading this: Do not waste your money on this movie. It is bad. It is horrible. To call it total crap would be a grave insult to feces.

This movie has stolen two hours of my life and $16.50 from my wallet. Don't let it do the same to you.

I've been doing a bit of commuting between Baltimore and New York recently, and I must say, the Acela really is the only civilized way to go. New York's Penn Station, on the other hand...
