2 weeks to go and counting...
I don't think I can tell you what exactly I'm feeling right now... it's pretty nuts. There's all sorts of emotions running around in me. Tonight was a totally awesome night. The guys planned our "houston" time together.... every Sunday night we get together as a group and just talk about stuff that's been going on... that started out kinda dry but each apartment took turns planning stuff and now it's something we look forward to every week. =) Anyway, tonight was our last one and the guys planned it around the last supper. They washed our feet, as Jesus did for his disciples at the last supper and we had time to share with one another the impact that we've made on each other. Needless to say the girls were all crying rivers 5 minutes into it. But it was really nice to be encouraged and to tell someone else what a blessing they've been to me. It's gonna be so hard to leave everyone!!!!! =(
There's is a lot to look forward to in the next few weeks, though!!! The camping trip is gonna be awesome!! =)
I've been reading The Hobbit lately. I had started it a while ago, but I found it kinda hard to read... I wasn't really into it. But I'm giving it a better effort now, and it's been really interesting. It requires a lot of the imagination to read. I just read the part about the dwarves and the hobbit being attacked by giant spiders in the forest... and I could totally picture that in my head... it was kinda neat =) I think I'll probably be done the book at the end of the week. It really has grown on me... Thanks Terence for letting me read it...

Time here in the West is winding down quickly. Going home is going to be quite an expereince. Never in my life have I lived in such a community as I have the last 3 months. I'm constantly surrounded by other Christians who share the same goals as me and are striving for the same thing. It's gonna be hard to take that home and recreate it.
I'm really going to miss everyone here. It's been sooo great. One awesome thing happened this weekend. Well, acutally it was just an amazing weekend overall.
For the first time in my life I got to go on an impromptu roadtrip =) It was great! The whole group was supposed to go hiking Saturday...and so after dinner on Friday, Dave comes running and asking people if they wanna go camping. I was like of course! It was great. He's like well, we're leaving in half and hour. I threw some clothes into my backpack, grabbed my sleeping bag and headed for the car. 10 of us headed out in 2 cars that night. We stopped off at a grocery store for some food and we headed for the mountains. As we drove towards the moutains, the sky got darker and darker. We saw quite the lightning show on the way to the mountains. The wind was nuts... it was pushing the car side ways and then the rain started coming down. We couldn't even see the mountains in the distance cuz of all the rain that was coming down. It was really exciting! *hehe* I had never done anything so spontaneous and it was great. Mark came and asked our car if we still wanted to keep going. We were all so pumped that it didn't matter that we would be camping in the rain!
We kept driving and I saw a tiny little clear patch in the sky. I really hoped we were heading towards it. Luckily, we were. It was great. We actually drove right past the storm, and it was a clear sky on the other side of the mountains. It was tricky trying to find a campsite though. We needed to get 2 cuz we had 10 people. We said a quick prayer when we realized that most of the loops of campsites were full. We had figured that since it wasn't a long weekend and that the weather wasn't that great, people would stay home. But we were wrong. We finally stumbled upon 2 vancant site in the canyon. Thank goodness. We really didn't want to have to turn around and go home.
We woke up the next morning and saw what a gorgeous place we were camping in. There were mountains all around the campsite!!! =) All I can say is WOW!
We went on the hike to Lowe Galatea Lake. Paul told us it would be an easy climb until the last km. It wasn't that easy at all. *haha* I think it's just cuz he's a hardcore hiker. But let me tell you, it was worth the climb. The lake and everything around it was just beautiful. I love being in the mountains. It always reminds me that God is so big and powerful and majestic. And that I am so small.
Another amazing thing that happened, Matt and Christy got engaged this weekend. =) He proposed to her on the mountain top. CONGRATS GUYS! I'm so happy for them. It's kinda weird. Being out here this summer has changed my perspective on marriage and timing of it. But that's another story for another day.
I get to take the next 2 days off! YEAH! =)

Lots has happened in the last few weeks... some bad and some not so bad.
Let's just concentrate on the good stuff... *got to spend a weekend at Kyle's cottage with everyone. There were about 23 of us up there. =) It was awesome. Got to go rafting which was really fun and tubing, which I had never done before. It was soo much fun =) *hehe* Nobody wanted to leave. It was an awesome time. Had smores and lots to eat *hehe* Great weather, too =) So glad that there isn't much rain. We've seen too much of that around here.
*went to the Stampede yesterday. An interesting experience. I didn't make it to the rodeo, but got to see lots of horses and cows and sheep... *hehe* It was smelly. I got to eat those little donuts with cinnamon and sugar on it! They're sooo yummy!!! Got to spend the afternoon with Juliet which was nice =) The grandstand show last night was really good, too. The dancers were awesome. There were these 2 guys doing some crazy stuff, though. They were wearing these tigh suits like ballerinas but they were just doing crazy flexible things. Like this guys balanced with one arm on the other guys head. How crazy is that?! Chuckwagon races were cool, too =)
*started new job at HSBC. Can get a little stressful cuz there's so much to remember but overall it's pretty good. People are patient with me which is great.
have to sleep right now....

let's see... had an interview at HSBC on Monday... only part-time, but that's cool. I don't know.... she was supposed to call me back yesterday but didn't.. so now I have to wait till next Monday. Hmm... went on a really awesome hike Saturday. It was looooonnnng though... we were supposed to hike up Mount Indefatiguable... (that's a great name..) but we took the wrong trail. So what was supposed to be a 3.9km hike turned into 17km. =) *hehe* Felt great after!!!
Hmm... currently reading Anil's Ghost. Pretty good so far...
Met so me really neat people at Streetlight on Monday. Met some folks from Toronto!!! =) That was cool. I sat and chatted with them about their trip across Canada. We got to talk a little about God, and that was neat, too. I'm beginning to realize that people aren't as opposed to it as I thought. It's something we all think about...
Christy and I finally got to talk last night. We had been planning for 2 weeks to sit down and chat again, but it wasn't until last night that we got the chance. We sat in Starbucks for an hour or so. It was really fun =) She's really easy to talk to and a great listener. =) Thanks Christy!
So much going on around here. Last Thursday's speaker spoke on the subject of humility. Let me tell you, she totally convicted me. We did dinner a little differently. Jason and I got a table to ourselves with a 3 course meal with dessert, a group of six had a pot of pasta and everyone else ate plain rice with their hands. At first it was neat cuz it was just me and Jason in the room, then just watching everyone else made it really uneasy. I couldn't eat. The food looked really good, but seeing everyone else with so little, made it hard. Then it hit me. The reality of life has never hit me so hard. I sit home every night with a satisfying meal while there are so many others in this world that are like my friends sitting in the other corner of the room, with just a plain pot of rice. Seeing them in front of me, made me really look and compare. Made it hard. How unfair it is that every night I get to sit in my home with more than enough food while others are starving and not having enough to eat. Jason and I didn't eat our dinner, we shared what we could with everyone else even though there wasn't enough to go around. I just can't believe how ignorant I can be sometimes. Thanks Debs for that demo. It totally spoke to me.
