and i just randomly happened to check in!

the land of iowa was good...actually it's greener than illinois. but that's not saying anything at all. good speakers at the conferences. however, not much to do in ames. now i'm way behind on work...what else is new there though! did watch the tech game with another fellow alum -- vick made a 64 yard pass. kick ass.

gato is trying to get my attention. meanwhile, neezer is just snoring.

Blah!

And you thought I forgot about this thing. Well, I did. But only temporarily.

Trip was fun -- how was the land o corn?

nerd, too important my ass! i swore to never go to IOWA (check out the corn cam)...not ivla. ivla is a visual literacy group.

blogs are all kinds of things, really. what we are doing is more "collaborative diary" of sorts. i have one for vr articles and news and another one that's rather insane. the blog that i have set up here is only for us -- you can set up your own for you, you and your friends, you and your enemies. whatever. so in this case we can post random news to each other. check out the blogger homepage for more examples.

don't recreate the shining scenario...but if you do, make sure that the film crew is around so i can make big bucks off of the feature film.

Twit,

Wow. There actually is a link to Red Rectum hot sauce. Unbelievable. I'll see about them free samples, mmmm, free samples...

What's IVLA? I'm too important to follow that link. You swore never to go to IVLA or Iowa?

New: I'm wedding bound this Wednesday; going to Maine with 2 other PhD students to watch one of 'em get married. It should be fun; we get along quite well, and this can be one of those bonding moments where we follow each other's careers avidly, inviting the others to collaborate on books, papers, and give guest seminars at the others' institutions. Or we can just reenact the Shining. You never know. Either way that means I have to kiss my fruit flies good bye for a few days and go road trippin', something I'm actually a bit loathe to do as the flies are generating a pile of data for me (and data means pubs! Pubs I can cover my naked butt with!).
Tsunami's been a freak of recent, I think there's something wrong with his brain. He's terrified of company, just hisses and looks like a trapped wild animal -- he was just annoying when I had a dinner party (hot tip -- sesame oil goes well with anything roasted -- made the best roast pork that way), and I had to stop people from terrorizing him anymore than he was (stop people from looking at him, or hissing back, or anything). Friday, I turned on the heater for the first time, and Tsunami just ran around making anxious mews -- he wouldn't shut up! I picked him up, he mewed. I put him down, he mewed. I put him near the heater grate, he mewed. I wandered off in disgust, he mewed. I hucked things at him to get him to shut up, he mewed. At least the place is comfy, if I don't mind a constant mewling in the background.
Duty calls -- anybody else use this thing? What's the point of Blog, ooc? Is it just e-mail, or is it a forum?

thanks for the bday gifts, nerd. the book caused rioting (as seen on oprah...the book, that is...not the rioting...not this week, anyway) and i mixed the hot sauce into gato's food (ha!). the beans (free samples!) will travel to work.

going to iowa for ivla on thursday...i swore i'd never go there...

what's new with you?
