CINEVIC PRESIDENCY NOTICE Dear CineVic Members, As you may have heard by now, due to work demands, Stephanie Pickering has stepped down as President of CineVic. As per the Society Act and its bylaws, the board 'must appoint' a new director to fill the vacany. The board will do so, but not before the general membership has an opportunity to put names forward. As of Monday night's general meeting, a couple of people have expressed interest. This is fantastic, thank you. And to make sure that we've given an opportunity to other interested parties (those who were not able to attend that meeting) to also put their names forward, I send this email. Please forward your name by the end of this week as we'd like to move forward with the decision. (Decision will be made known on or before the next board meeting.) In the absence of a president, it falls to the vice-president to fill the role. So the director's position that we'll be filling (until the agm in April) is the Vice President's position. As stated, the main function of the Vice President is to backfill for the president, as well, to run the monthly 'new member's meetings' (first Thursday of each month). Other commitments include the two board meetings per month and attendance at the general meetings. You may also be required to sit on a committee as necessary. If this sounds interesting to you, please contact me, any of the other board members or Elaine Dowling by week's end. We look forward to hearing from and working with you. Sincerely, Doug Ozeroff A/President CineVic
