10:40 PM I did a little work on the blogger page tonight (two hours, at least), but most of it was in the archives and cleaning up the code on the main page. I have mediocre plans for the blogger page, oh yes, I do. All I need to do is try to find the time and motivation to get moving on those plans. If you want some insight into my ideas, just let me know anytime, but right now they're all general ideas I have barely a clue how/when I'll impliment. I guess you'll just have to keep your eyes peeled in the meantime. One thing I did to the page (that I've wanted to do forever) is to finally cap the bottom of the blog with black space, so it doesn't look like the blogs just go on forever at the bottom of the page. It's the little things that make me happy (like finding an excuse to do homework). :-)
8:39 PM If you want to read something utterly irresponsible and childish related to the recent attacks, follow this link. I should warn you, though -- After the first paragraph I could only read it with my jaw wide open in shock and disgust. All I have to say is that those people better be glad that they live in a free society where they can say what they want to, but I'm happy that I live in a country where I can publish my outrage for such rubbish. I hate to say this, but it's crap like this that's helped to warp my views and feelings on religion in general, not just Christianity. I know this isn't everyone's view, but to hear it from religious leaders such as them disturbs me.
8:22 PM One of those unanswered questions... How come, whenever I'm riding my bike and let someone know I'm passing them by saying, "On your left," they always look to the right? *smack!* Saturday, September 15, 2001
11:12 PM Well, apparently Janine and I weren't the only ones watching the same TV movie tonight. How I absolutely adore the pure imagination of Mr. Wonka. :-) Today was a very good day of fine mowing, detailed weed-wacking, and the viewing of both a possum and a small fox. I didn't think foxes lived around Michigan (except for the obvious ones... ;-) ), but the little set of red eyes on the side of the road as we drove back from the DQ told me differently. There is no life I know to compare with pure imagination. Living there, you'll be free, if you truly wish to be.
1:34 PM I did laundry today, and it went fairly quickly. It's amazing how much faster things get done with five washers and dryers (even if the dryers do suck monkey balls). There is definitely something to say about nice clean bed sheets. :-) Not much on the docket for the rest of the day. I'm gonna head up to Janine's house pretty soon to see her and mow the lawn (yes, I love mowing, go fig). Not much else to blog about, really. My life isn't incredibly exciting right now, but I'll get back to you as soon as it does. :-) Wednesday, September 12, 2001
9:03 PM Life goes on today. It doesn't feel quite normal quite yet, and I'm not sure when it will. On a completely different note, I got absolutely no mail today. I usually get at least on epiece of junk mail, but absolutely nothing was in the box. Kinda good, kinda bad, but definitely a first. Tuesday, September 11, 2001
11:10 AM I remembered that I have some extended family who live the New York/New Jersey area. I tried calling the one I remember (an 2nd uncle, I think, on my step-mother's side), but all circuits were busy. I then called the left coast and talked with my step-mom, who was on the phone with my grandmother. She told me the family I was worried about was okay, but obviously shook up. I don't think there is any other family that lives in the city, which is a relief. I didn't think he worked in or near the WTC, but I wasn't sure... I'm more than relieved he's okay, but I can't say that many people are feeling the same way this morning. The New York Skyline is forever changed. The life of every American has been shaken. The United States will never be the same. Dear God what have they done?
10:34 AM Oh my Holy God. I woke up and turned on the TV at about 9am this morning to the most horrific sight I've ever seen. One plane had hit a tower of the World Trade Center and nearly gone straight through. About one minute after I"d turned on the TV I saw a plane flying a little too close to the scene and then suddenly, *crash*. The place crashed into the corner of the second tower. Seeing it live was eerilly frightening. An hour later, that second building collapses on itself and who knows how many innocent people. I'm not a religious person, but if there was ever a time to pray, this is it. Monday, September 10, 2001
11:13 AM Last Year: GM couldn't stop trying to persuade me to join thier ranks and sent me a fairly generous offer, which I declined 'cause I wanted to finish up grad school. This Year: Just got a letter from GM "regretfully" informing me that I don't match their qualifications "at this time". Do I sense hypocrisy?
10:47 AM And now, responses to some more-recent page referrals: 1) Dude, I'm not so sure you should be trying to find advice on that here. 2) To tell you the truth, I have no clue. 3) They're not here. Sorry to disappoint you. Yup... these are searches people did and that linked to my site. *shakes head* |
