We don't like to beg, but... - August 30, 2001
We have deliberately not changed the homepage news for the past month or so in the hopes that more of you would feel compelled to make a small donation to the Courage for Cancer fundraiser we have been promoting.
Thank you SO much to those of you who have. We know some of you personally, and we know that you have tight budgets yourselves. It means a lot that care enough to make even the smallest donation to try and help out. We have had people who are literally unemployed and unsure about their *own* futures make a donation to the cause, and that's so truly appreciated, by Snipe.Net *and* by Shanen. If you haven't, there's still time!
We've managed to raise about $500 or so through online donations, but that's simply not enough. Shanen still has about $1100 left to raise, and we'll remind you that she'll have to pay for the remaining balance out of her own pocket if the total isn't met. That may not mean much to many of you, but she's trying to do something positive, and she simply can't afford the financial hit that absorbing the balance will cause. We ask you once again. If you haven't donated, PLEASE do so now. Time is running out for her, and she needs our help.
We're disappointed that so few of you have donated, when so many come to us for help and advice and even just the occasional chuckle. We feel compelled to reiterate the fact that if every single Snipe.Net user donated $2, we could meet or exceed the needed balance in *one* day.
And yet we find ourselves still $1100 short of the mark.
