Yes, the shadow we cast upon the road will soon be gone like the summer sun. For we are but spit and dirt, just spit and dirt. Sometimes I wonder whether those days ever happened and those roads and horizons are just home movies flickering in my mind. dub dub dub. Don't forget this is our time in the sun. Perhaps we have forgot the joy that once followed us like a pink puppy on drugs, or our own dancing shadow. Perhaps we have lost the thing which made us climb in the trees and search the clouds for meaning. Perhaps we are just hollow monkey spitting in the dirt, mimicking our creator, but creating nothing. Working with the machine to manufacture our lost purpose. Jim, I think I'm starting to lose it...
dont worry about blonde things that flitter like happy butterflies and stamp their coffee with their foot demaning to see the manager. dont worry cos Grant is a lovely name, just lovely like a petal or a honey-beer poured over a bbq. somethings in life are sad. there is a hidden tragedy in everyone's life. Me, I'm just one lost soul who had nothing and no one in the world, besides a raggedy taggerty matress. Then that was stolen from me in a cruel twist. Now I rock the barstool and I think for two, jsut pondering this timebomb in my mind. I lost my lucky ball and chain and now shes four years gone, just five feet tall and sick of me and all my ratterling on, she walked away from a happy man, I thought I was so cool, I just sat there whistling, 'there goes the bride' as she walked out the door.

I was swimming in the Caribean, animals were hiding behind the rocks, except the little fish and he told me told me quickly...
I liesl without cigs and beerish ale but with robotics for her cogs and dutch traditional shoes.
No I fear I shall never ever see my mattress again. but at least poor simon could sleep sound and unsore for a night... nay perhaps he didnt you all left on new years day.
nothing changes on new years day.

Yes hopefully the crickets will chirr once more. I like crickets. They make me think of a better time, a happier summery car, a kinder gentler machine gun. Wahine bab-eee.....
So where to from here?
After the new year African Rum and Mexican Beer? and the strange light by the beach and the yobbo with a fear of seaweed?
perhaps more whacky zany adventures. Perhaps the hollow sound of another war... perhaps the chirring of insects in the summer yellow grass and nothing more. Perhaps we have already lived the greatest parts of our life and the rest is merely the silence after the words are spoken.

My head... my head... my head.... my poor poor head. Office Christmas party. Vodka and Red bulls. Seemed like such a good idea at the time. Must crawl into a dark place in the universe and return to humanity in a few weeks.

We must not be enemies. Though passion may have strained, it must not break our bonds of affection. The mystic chords of memory, stretching from every battlefield and patriot grave, to every living heart and hearth-stone, all over this broad land, will yet swell the chorus of the Union when again touched, as surely they will be, by the better angels of our nature.

This friday I will be going to my old work's christmas party. All you can drink equals fun and no doubt trouble. My old work doesn't actually exist anymore it closed down, it was a lovely Steakhouse. After I quit, me and my friends used to go and drink free alcohol there, can't help but think I did my best to help the business go under. Anyways, the summer sun, drinks and the old neighbourhood sounds sweet. The next morning I will drive down the coast to visit my family who I havent seen for a few weeks now. When Friday comes I'll be a happy boy. Last night I was in my room alone and I got a phone message from a friend I haven't seen in a long time, she has disappeared into long term relationship land. it's sad. but it was good to hear from her, good indeed. i got out the photo album full of my world trip and our trips to the beach, full of laughs, and pub meals, beer and cheer, sand, water, salt...... but only made me feel more lonesome. in this little room.

...the long road

we all walk the long road, cannot stay... there's no need to say goodbye.. all the friends and family... all the memories going round round round... i have wished for so long, how i wish for you today.....

i'm living in student accomodation type place at the moment. off-season and the place is huge and empty. but my room is tiny. my old life is back in suburbs.. within reach but away... i am near the cars, the shouts, the shops, the noise now. i dont feel at home. i feel a little isolated. but i feel okay. it is friday and soon, oh so soon the holidays will arrive for a short while....
