"What makes life worth living? To be born with the gift of laughter and sense that the world is mad." -- S. Scaramouche
Tuesday, January 9To the person who wrote in the guestbook, "just so ya know the band that did the Insanity song is called Oingo Boingo not just Boingo like you wrote in your site:"
Wednesday, November 29Save the Joker Update - Ain't It Cool posted an article saying that not only has the censoring of "Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker" taken place, it is worse than the WB spokespeople said it would be and there is currently no uncut version being offered to the adult fans. More info and the relevant links can be found at savethejoker.org.
Monday, November 27Phil over at Harley's Heaven has started a petition to try and convince The Powers That Be over at DC to remove Karl Kessel from the helm of their new monthly Harley Quinn comic and replace him with Ty Templeton. If you agree that Kessel's version of the Mistress of Mayhem leaves a lot to be desired, go sign the petition to let Ty Templeton write 'Harley Quinn'.
Friday, October 27To all the girls and boys who have complained about this site's lack of coverage of the animated Joker, I humbly point you to Mad Love - Joker/Harley City. It's slick. It's informative. It's fun. It's entirely devoted to the animated duo (the demented duo, not the dynamic one). It's even powered by blogger. In short: it. kicks. major. tail.
Thursday, October 26Hey, remember back around last Christmas, when KidsWB had that Christmas theme? With all of the characters from different cartoons singing carols in between shows? Batman just glared at the camera and said, menacingly, "I'm not singing." Umm, yeah. So then, explain this to me, Warner Brothers:
Tuesday, October 24Well. Last week's "Best Possible Actor to Portray the Joker" poll got an extra day because I couldn't access it yesterday to make changes. The votes (all 17 of them) came out 52% in favor of Jack Nicholson, which, honestly, is really disappointing. No offense to Jack, but his Joker was extremely overrated. I thought he got the character all wrong. Much closer to matching the Joker portrayed on this site might have been Willem Dafoe, who came in a distant second with 17%. The remaining votes were devided equally among Mark Hamill, Danny Elfman, Brent Spiner, Jim Carrey, and a write in vote for Alan Cumming, which, by the by, I think would be utterly brilliant casting. Not surprising was 0 votes for Michael Keaton, although I personally think he'd be at least as good a Joker as he was a Batman. Slightly more surprising was 0 votes for Gary Oldman, who isn't necessarily right for the part, but I put him up there anyway because, well, he's Gary Oldman. He can do anything.
Thursday, October 19In the Lounge: Is Harley Quinn a devious vixen who uses the Joker as much as he uses her, or is she a victim deserving our sympathy? Or, are they a couple of star-crossed lovers from Hell? Add your two cents to the interesting opinions posted here.
Over in the poll, somebody wrote in a vote for Alan Cummings. I wish I'd thought of that. That could be pretty darned spectacular.
