Here is the reason why the Disturbed/ Sabbath tour was cancelled... this was taken from The PRP!
The reason for the cancellation of the Black Sabbath / Disturbed August trek has now been released. The tour is said to have been called off due to Ozzy Osbourne's record label, Epic Records, wanting Ozzy to return to the studio to finish up work on his forthcoming and as of yet untitled new solo album, due out on October 16th. In the meantime, Disturbed frontman David Draiman is still planning to undergo surgery for his ulcer / acid reflux condition in the coming weeks, though the procedure is not expected to cause the band any serious downtime. At present, Disturbed are eyeing hitting the road in late September on a headlining trek with Drowning Pool and Stereomud in tow. An additional two other bands are also expected to be added to the bill shortly, one of which may possibly be Sevendust. Plans for an a DVD release from Disturbed are also in the works, with a tentative April release being eyed, while the bands sophomore effort is currently being mapped out for a summer 2002 release.

David Draiman recently commented on what to expect from the band on their headlining tour which kicks off today, here's what he had to say:

"We'll have new segues, different adaptations of songs, maybe even some new songs and an additional cover or two, we've got a track on the upcoming Faith No More tribute album, "Midlife Crisis", that we plan on playing."
