1 more day...it really feels like it doesnt want to come. Im just ready to get started...but i dunno why, maybe because everyone else has and theyre all in this big sense of new surroundings and experiences. And im chillen here in snellville.

I keep getting this picture of me walking around Emory during the winter time with the fall leaves blowing around me, and Im walking with a purpose but I dunno where. Its weird, thats all I see when i think of the campus. Its right outside the admissions building too.

I feel so idle. Like without a purpose, theres nothing more for me here, just sitting around here and getting on and off-line wondering if anyone ever changes their away messages...or why they even put them up because some people are never there. Not that Im too keen on talking to everyone all the time, just interesting figuring out the rules to AIM. Its kinda like the rules on conversation. Keep yourself open. Be willing to let something go. Don't talk about yourself too much. Ask enough questions to keep the conversation moving. Wonder if the other person is really listening, or in it for the same thing as you. Something to do. Its amazing what one can do to keep themselves busy. At least people are around for that in college. New people always to be seen, met, and thought about.

Its looks like Im taking a lot of stuff to school when I look at my things laying out in my room. 1 regular suitcase, 1 of those suit holders bags, 2 under the bed rolley things, a couple of big boxes, and a 3 drawer crate system thing...all of it full with stuff. I think what ill do is just unload there, see what i dont need and then just send it back home. Definite nice thing about being near home, but then again a lot of the people going to Emory seem to be from out of state, so its like Im not getting the full experience. Its like I already feel so comfortable on campus. I pretty much know where everything is, and how everything works and if I dont, i know quite a few upperclassmen who would be happy to help me out. No sense of helplessness or anything to accomplish involved. Maybe getting thrown in will do it anyway. I hope so, I need something. I dunno what. Fear maybe, challenge, that might be a better word for it. Idleness really isnt a good thing. Its good in increments. Not in weeks.

um...i think i finished getting all my stuff together but I dont think it could have been that easy...ill probably remember the loads of stuff im forgetting once i get there...nice...

ynow? im starting to wonder if im really as ready for college as ive always thought i was. after one of my best friends left saturday morning, its like how do you adjust from throwing your entire life into another place. I really dont think it'll be as big of a deal for me since im only about 45 minutes from my house (including traffic), but Ill still only see my family every couple of weeks, which is quite a change from everyday. Im actually feeling for you guys going away to school, I respect all the courage its taken you to completely immerse yourself in a world you arent familiar with, without having your parents there to back you up. Im positive im not going to be calling on my parents just yet, because i know if i do, then they will think im not ready and then theyll start checking up on me, when i think i should be checking up on them. I am completely ready to start school though, just to get into my classes and everything. Finally be able to learn things that i truly enjoy, not saying everyone doesnt LOVE bc calculus or physics, but it really isnt all too great for me. I still have absolutely no idea which language i want to take. Right now, here's what im wrestling with...

1. German- I took 3 years of it in high school and remember only enough to be able to say comprehendable things. I used its some when I was in Hamburg this summer, but other than that, none...and ive never been the greatest fan of it.
2. Japanese- Obviously, if im going into business i might as well be fluent in a language spoken by the second-strongest economy in the world.
3. Spainish- its spoken by quite a few people and i really think its a beautiful language, not as beautiful as italian or portugese, but still. CHANCES are itll be more practical too.
4. Arabic- this is a small chance, but i can already read it from reading the Quran, and i think it would be great to take my understanding of it further.

If anyone has any advice, please dont hesitate to email me (nogo00@hotmail.com) or sign my guestbook. Thanks.

okay, so ive spent the last couple of weeks sitting around my house and waiting for school to start...it has felt like one of the longer summers of my schooling, i guess it was because i was gone for so long though and I didnt have all too much time to chill at home, which is a good and bad thing. Ive been thinking about things a lot too...things like what i want to major in, will i actually like doing that major, am i gonna see some of my friends again, how im gonna keep close to the ones going far away, what would i be thinking if i was going out-of-state somewhere, would i actually have LIKED to go out of state and go to a place where i knew no one....its all so weird but im so comfortable at emory now. The Emory Alumni committee or whatever had a little orientation thing yesterday and i went and i knew about 10 people there, so i didnt feel at all out of place, i was just settling in. And I know im gonna have fun there, so im quite content with where i am right now. Very relaxed.

Hm...but there are still a ton of things that are running through my head...just things that ill probably have to deal with as time goes on. Some of them are emotional things, others are introspective things...I guess im still wondering what I actually want out of life. Actually, i think thats it. What do I want my life to be? Whos going to be there to share it with me? Will my life be happy and laidback? Will I have to work my ass off after college to get to the position I want, or will it be handed to me through my work in school and who i am? Its all so surreal. Who knew I would actually grow up and become 18 and go to college...you always thought that day would never come, but its here and im ready for something new and something more challenging, so, this is for all of you people who are afraid of whats to come...dont be, there isnt a reason for it. Its pretty much as simple as that, I think you should save your emotions and fear and apprehensiveness for your time there. Take it with open arms and itll go the way you planned. Oh yeah, and be yourself when youre getting to know people, theyre in the same situation youre in.

I got my Europe pictures back the other day so im gonna try to scan some of the better ones one of these days and make another page for them. They turned out surprisingly well, my uncle got me a new camera right before i left (Olympus Stylus Epic) and it took incredible pictures...they were incredible clear and if any of you guys are looking for your own camera, this is one to definitely look into. You can usually find it for $50 to $60, so its not all too expensive either.

I realized another thing the other day too, I think ethics has become a lost art...it seems for most people, there doesnt seem to be any reason to think about what youre doing, its all okay until you look back on it and learn from it. Why cant people just think beforehand about some experiences and realize that A. they arent "right", or B. it probably isnt good for you or isnt going to feel good. I guess its gonna apply to us now more than ever, because we're goin off to college...and you go from a level of protection from your parents, to complete freedom over whats gonna happen to you...

alright, putting this thing back togetherrr....

dammit....i forgot to save all the code from before

COOL! FIRE!

Lets see if anything happened...

well, i think ive gotten the taste of summer that ive always wanted over the past few days....waking up at 11, sitting around all day talking to friends and lounging around, "surfin the net" (thats a ridiculous phrase), and i have to say that it feels very nice. No responsibilities or anything. I started deciding which classes to take next year...im gonna get to exempt calc I, microecon, macroecon, literature, and american history...so i get to skip a semester of classes, which is great. And the classes im thinking about taking sound so incredibly cool that i really dont think ill mind taking them. Just interesting ones, i did get a 3 on the physics exam (I really have no idea how that happened since i only answered 14 of the 35 mult choice, and did 1 of 3 free responses) so i think im gonna be taking biology for non-science majors, or bio for people who would like to sleep some...and then i guess ill take this religion class that compares christianity and islam which should be really interesting, then maybe an art history class or i really hope i can get into an intro to ethics class....there are just so freakin many, its great. Not too many of the ones i want are full either so im good. I already know im gonna be on 1st floor of smith hall too, which is a pretty good dorm...nice size rooms and a sink, good location on campus and im roomin with mr nabeel ahmed himself which should make the year very fun...I got a huge ferrari flag to put up from venice and i got my huge dave poster and some other posters i have but those are the main ones....yeahhhhhhhhh. This is so insane. Im starting college. Hm...but best years of my life (supposedly) so I AM READY without a FREAKIN doubt....
