We had an earthquake this weekend that rattled the whole house in Hollywood pretty well. Nothing was damaged and everyone is all right, but I did learn that my earthquake survival skills are lame at best. As the house was shaking, I noticed that a knickknack was about to fall off the top of our enormous, overflowing bookshelf. Rather than huddle in the doorway waiting for God's fury to end, I walked over to the shelf and pushed the knickknack towards the back. Had the earthquake been strong enough to topple the shelf, I would have been pinned beneath a thousand pounds of books and crap. These are the types of risks I take during the course of my very exciting and dangerous life.

Hello, people. It seemed like it was time for me to add something to this page, whether I had anything to say or not. I'm thinking about making some updates around here. Only time will tell. I think there's going to be a new Spring Heeled Jack official site again, and if that happens I'll be helping to add some fun new SHJ material to it. Already, the unofficial site on geocities is boosting sales of Mass Appeal Madness at Amazon.com. It's pretty cool that people are still discovering the film.

I'm working on a fairly deranged book, so perhaps sometime soon I'll post a chapter or two up here. I'm getting pretty excited about it, and will do my best to stay motivated to finish it.

Those of you who like to dance like Irishmen should check out lisasirishdance.com because I made it for my friend Lisa. Then you can go pretend you're Sean Connery if it makes you happy.

That's all for now.

Okay. I've updated the look of the whole site, except maybe this page. We'll see if this page looks right when I publish this. Also, some new photos grace the Picturama page. Check 'em out.

I've finally done some kind of updating! If you came in through the front page, you can see that I've changed the look of the site a bit. I'm planning on making the rest of the site conform to this exciting new look, as well as putting some actual entertainment up here soon. I have lots of photos, and I will not rest until they are on this site. Okay, in reality I'm going to go to bed and maybe tomorrow I'll start scanning so I can get these photos up. But Picturama will be all-new soon. And these are some pretty good photos.

Did I forget to mention that Dreamcast rocks my world? And takes up a lot of time. Not all of my time has been spent making human contact, now that I think about it. My big new TV and video games are not helping to make 2001 the year of productivity.

What's up, people? It's been a while since I've updated this crazy site because I've had all kinds of company the past few weeks. Hopefully, I'll be good and put up some shiny new pictures soon. Stephanie gave me a tiny Canon Elph camera for Christmas and I try to take it with me everywhere like the film geek I am. Many shocking images have been recorded. This century hasn't been so good for productivity so far, but I'll do my best to do something interesting soon. Those of you who know John O'Mara, Mike Pellegrino, and Kerri Herrman should understand why I've spent my time hanging out with them instead of updating this site, but now it's time for me to get back to work! If I could crack a whip and type at the same time, I would.

Happy New Year, people! I don't have a lot of news for you, but I do have this: I got screwed by Mindspring/Netcom, and my old email address (thyroid@ix.netcom.com) is going to stop working around March, so change your address book now. You can write to me at danehandsome@yahoo.com from now on.

Welcome to the future! I am now living in a house equipped with DSL and cable television! I have moved my computer from the front window to the back corner of the living room so I can pretend I live in a futuristic cave with no hope of human contact. Woohoo! Even as we speak, old black and white television episodes on Superman are playing on my TV. Punch a hole in that concrete, Superman! You're huge!

Now it's time to put up the Christmas tree. Thanks, family, for my new Christmas ornaments, which I will be putting on a tree shortly.

DSL hell! I'm still waiting for my DSL connection. GRRR! I've been waiting since at least early September. Supposedly they will come and make it work sometime next week. I'm tired of complaining about this. With a dial up connection, you have to wait for things to download. With DSL, you have to wait for months in advance, and then your downloads go quickly. Either way, this sucks.
