Well Zandy finally called me. Too bad it was at 5:30 in morning and I really don't remember much about what we talked about.

Last night was my first time vomitting in Hawaii. I went with one of my roommates to this bar down the street to meet up with his friends and we got hammered. The pitchers of beer just kept coming. I went to bed around 3 and about an hour later I almost zacked in bed. Now, when you have 4 guys living in an apartment chances are things don't stay clean. Our restroom is a prime example. The sickest shit ever is our toilet. It hasn't been cleaned since we moved in. I don't know what made me throw up more, the alcohol or the pungent smell of urine. So, my goal for this week is to clean that restroom so next weekend I'll have a clean place to ralph.

I've been looking for flights home for the break on the internet and it sucks that the cheapest flights I've found go into LAX. Maybe I'm just a little paranoid but I really don't want to go anywhere near that area. I've also been looking for a cheap Aloha flight but the cheapest so far is on United. I'm probably just being retarded about all this.

Yesterday, the UH sudents and staff had a march and vigil in rememberance of Tuesday's victims. They gave us white arm bands and we we marched the streets near the campus. The march ended in this open quad area where hundreds of students gathered. I was really shocked to see so many people ditched class to attend. The president of the college gave a semi-inspirational speech and eveyone joined hands in a moment of silence. Afterwards, the ceremony ended and everyone just sat around wanting to do something more. After a few minutes, somebody started singing "God Bless America" and soon everyone else joined in. There was a huge card to sign and several people were pulled aside to be filmed for the local news. Later last night, my roomates and I were sitting around drinking and one pointed to the screen and said "Hey, is that you". For a split second I saw myself on TV.

I just heard on the news that a team of librarians at the LA public library have been researching this so-called Nostradamus prophecy. They say it is totally false and accuse email fowarders of sparking panic. So please, stop sending crap that just sounds interesting without any validity.

Honolulu news sucks ass. There is this one local station not affiliated with a major network that kind of reminds me of the "Rosemead Report" with a slightly bigger budget. They've mostly been talking about the locals who were invovled and tend to stay away from the hardcaore news. The only thing interesting I've seen was the story of this family. The mother and father have this pact that whenever they fly together they do so on seperate planes so in case of a plane crash, their children will never become orphans. They were on vacation in Boston and one was to fly in the plane that was headed for LA and the other was to fly in the one heading for SF. There, they would get connecting flights to Honolulu. A few days before, they received word from their children asked them to take a later flight so they could walk them to school. They did so and now the familly just waits to be united.

The Honolulu airport is still not open and many tourist have been sitting outside the airport wondering when flights will resume. Everyone is in hopes that they can be the first one out but they fail to understand that the planes that were diverted here will be the first. It sucks to be on an island with only one way out.

After a whole day of trying to get through to NYC I was finally able to talk to Lyn. All day, I have had this nauseating feeling in my stomach which has only now been relieved. Listening to her first hand accounts, it was difficult for me to keep my composure. She had to walk from Times Square to Queens where her friend lives. All the way she said she passed people in need of medical attention and covered in ash. She was trying to remain calm but I can tell that she is really shook up. Her sister's building is across the street from the World Trade Center and unfortunately she had to witness the 2nd plane's impact. Her sister is happy to be alive but wonders what's next. Her building is destroyed and there is no way to even get into that area for awhile. Lyn used to live near the Pentagon so all day she 's been trying to get a hold of people in DC as well as the NYC area. She doesn't want to go into work tomorrow in fear of possible terrorist attacks and I don't blame her.

The military here is on full alert but other than that there seems to be no real concern. The airport is closed until further notice which is odd when I think that even if I wanted to leave the island, there is no way. School is still in session and, except for those with military family, we are expected to attend.

I thank god that the Imai's are safe and I pray for those whose families have been affected by today's tragedy. Please, take precaution of your surroundings in the next few days. If at all possible try to stay out of the city or anywhere else that might be considered a prime location for terrorist attack.

Weekend Update. Well I'm slowly climbing out of my shell. Friday night, after coming back from seeing a play on campus (i went by myself, how sad is that), I went with one of my roommates friends to this party in the dorms next to us. I don't know Keith very well (my roommates friend) so I didn't really want to go but I figured it's the only way I'm going to meet people. So we headed out to this party and after a few beers I ended up talking to this girl. She wasn't really that cute but we talked for a pretty long time. To bad I was too fucked up to remember her name.

Yesterday was by far the best day since I've been here. Around 2:00pm, my roommate Jaime and I headed out to Diamond Head to do a little hiking. Diamond Head is this extinct volcano which only erupted once 150,000 years ago. We had to take the bus there which dropped us off outside the crater. We had to walk through this tunnel to get from the outside into the center of the crater. The inside of the crater was a little eerie because everything was dry. Most of Hawaii is tropical and green but the crater was like a desert. So we paid the $1 entrance fee and proceed to ascend the crater. All the while up there I could hear Q's voice bitching "Are we there yet?". It was the steepest hike I've done in a while. After you've hiked most of the way there are these two dark tunnels. A girl we met on the path let us borrow one of her flashlights because the tunnels are narrow and you can't see shit. Then there are these 2 100 step ladders to climb. The first wasn't too bad. The second kicked my ass because it was so steep. It took about 1/2 hour to get to the top but it was so worth it. From the top of Diamond Head you can see almost all of Oahu. You can even see the next island over which I think is Lanai. From the top I saw two different rainbows. This is now my favorite spot on the island. After a while, we headed back down and we decided to head over to the nearest beach. Being without a car sucks ass. It took us about an hour to walk to Kapiolani State park. In the middle of the park there is this big grassy area. From this spot I saw the hugest rainbow. This rainbow actually touched down on both sides and must have spanned about two miles. It was in front of the mountain and through it you could see how the colors of the rainbow changed the colors of the mountain. Above it sat another rainbow which only had a partial arch. No words can do this justice. Let me just say it was fucking amazing. So we swam in the beach for awhile. I actually got to stand on some coral. It's weird swimming out from the shore and one minute not being able to touch the ground and another minute standing in the middle of the ocean. Afterwards, we walked to Waikiki to get something to eat and then headed back to campus. By the time I got back I was ready to crash. My legs were tired from all the walking but it was still pretty early. My other roomate, Kason (the hawaiian) was going to Pipeline with some of his friends and wanted to know if I wanted to go. So of course I went. I met some of his friends and and the girls wanted to dance. We danced for about three hours straight. Sometime in the middle I thought to myself "How fucking wierd is this? Dancing with a bunch of people you don't even know". Towards the end of the night I was exhausted and my legs wanted to give out on me. Needless to say, I slept good last night. So, all in all it was a pretty cool weekend.

I WANT MY MTV!!! Last night, I had to go to the campus center just to watch the video awards. I caught the end of one airing and then the beginning of another but I totally missed the mid-section. I was watching it with these random girls who don't have a tv either. I got a little choked up during the Aaliyah tribute but I had to hold it back cause the girls were there. Alicia Keys kicked ass! Missy Elliot's performance wasn't that good though. J-Lo can't sing but she's hot as fuck. Anyway, sometime this weekend I have to find a way to finish watching the awards.

I had to open a damn checking account because there are no Wells Fargos in Hawaii. There are no mainland banks here either. What's up with that?
