New Year's Champagne Can Be Painful. Two California researchers find that the familiar tingle on the tongue caused by the fizzy drink is no pleasure at all. In fact, it is downright painful
''The tingle you get from a chili pepper is working on the pain system,'' Michael O'Mahony, a food scientist at the University of California, Davis, who co-led the study, said on Friday. ''But it also turns out that the fizz or the carbonation you get from a fizzy drink works on the same system.''
One way to avoid the pain, however, was to drink Guinness beer instead. That liquid gets its frothy fizz from nitrogen which produces a different, smoother feel in the mouth, the researchers said

Well it's Christmas evening Scott just asked me to hang out---looks like he got bored of all those TNT specials, and i finally got a chance to get online after stuffing my face with decent cookies and too many helpings of A Christmas Story.....and i just realized in a week or so it will be New Years's.....yup it's good to be in e-brew,happy holidays....from elite3k
