My new page [designed by my gorgeous boyfriend] is now ready. From now on I'll be posting there [no more stupid ads in the top right hand corner! YAY!!] and as soon as I figure out how to do it, all of the below will go into my archives there. Goodbye Geocities.

Don't you hate the way your eyes and nose start to water when you're riding down a steep hill in cold wind? And then, when you get the the shop, you bump into a good looking guy you know from your uni course and he looks at you in your terribly uncool bike helmet (that sits on your head like "a pimple on a pumpkin" as my mum used to say), gives you a weak smile and turns away, pretending to be really interested in the different types of water crackers next to him on the shelf.

What did I just say about helpful boyfriends? :) I move along my merry way making a mess of my homepage and Andrew's right behind me with a dustpan and brush.

This is actually Andrew posting, hoping that I can fix whatever's wrong with Fea's weblog. This post will most likely disappear when I done. Carry on :).

Don't you just love boyfriends? Especially ones that can... er...do stuff? My lovely boyfriend Andrew has just redesigned my page and I think it looks absolutely fantastic. If you don't agree and have some suggestions (or you do and you want to praise him) you can post them here. Speaking of handy boyfriends, Sam was trying to open the garage door last night and somehow managed to break the key off while it was still in the lock so we couldn't open the door. Terry (her boyfriend) came around and got it open for us. Thank you Terrry!

I just finished my one and only exam (maths) for the semester (yes, I know I'm lucky but you CHOSE to do the course you're doing, didn't you?). It went just as well as I had hoped. Terribly. Okay, so that's a slight exaggeration because I'm pretty sure that I'll at least pass which is all I really want in this subject. During high school I hated maths. Now that I'm learning to teach it I merely dislike it but I'm terrified that my future students will feel my hate-math-vibes and hate maths too so I'm DETERMINED to like it a little. Hrm... positive points about maths... numbers.. numbers are... nice. Ah HA! Maths is USEFUL! There we go. That's my motivation. Oh, and I'm not listening to you telling me about calculators because if I do I'll be back to square one again.

I'm moving out of home tomorrow. I've got to somehow manage to do a whole 2000 word assignment tonight AND pack. Normally I wouldn't think twice about putting in an all-nighter but since I just did that last night I'm not all that keen to do it again. It wouldn't be so hard (because I finish uni at 3:30pm) but I'm working tonight as well so it's going to cut into my doing-assignment-while-packing time. We went over the place yesterday to make sure everything was in order. I'm going to get the electricity turned on tomorrow morning and get a phone account. That should be expensi... interesting.

Tomorrow I start riding or walking everywhere. Can you see me on a fluroescent (my GOD! I just checked that on spell check and I got it right the first time!! Wow!) pink bicycle with a bright orange helmet? Of course you can! Actually, I have a question. Are you supposed to ride with the traffic on the road or on the side of the road? And if you're supposed to ride on the side of the road do you ride with the traffice coming up behind you or do you ride with the traffice coming towards you? I have no idea.

I've got to go to my last PE class of the year! :) YAY!! No more PE! Actually, I think this is our last PE class for our entire course!! Fanbloodytastic!

I got my hair cut today. Nothing big, just a trim. My little sister changed her hair colour: blondish-brown changed to a burgandy colour. I argued with her the entire way to the hair salon. "You have beautiful hair! It's a lovely colour! Don't change it you idiot!" I had to eat my words when she came out though - the colour actually suits her.

I found out that my university studies aren't going quite so bad as I had originally thought. Yesterday I believed that I had three assignments due in on Friday. Today I found out that I have one assignment due on Friday and one exam on Thursday. I hate exams. I always seem to finish before everyone else. Then I start to worry that I haven't answered all of the questions (which I usually haven't anyway) and that I haven't done something the way I was supposed to. Example: Question: Write out six different instruments (and the ranges of the instruments) usually found in a brass band. [Fiona then names three instruments found in a string ensemble without including their ranges and wonders what went wrong when she receives her mark for the exam.] Okay, so I don't handle them terribly well. I guess it's good that I'm in a course where exams are rare and chucked into the assessment only to scare students into actually trying to learn something. What lecturers fail to realise (or possibly just ignore) is that almost 95% of students don't learn anything except how to cram the night before and still pass. Let's see... my exam is on Thursday, today is Tuesday. Ha! I've got heaps of time! Must go watch a rerun of Seinfeld that I've already seen twice.

I don't know if you know this but for the past month, Sam (my older sister) and I have been looking at moving out of home. When I started looking at places (two bedroom, fully furnished was our only possibility because we have no furniture) I quickly became dismayed at the number of... well... dives that are around. Eventually, I found a place that's really nice and close to the university and within riding distance of Lone Star. We put in the application form last Wednesday and they rang today to say that it had been approved (YAY!) and that we can start moving in on Friday. FRIDAY! This has all happened so quickly! :)
