Tuesday, September 04, 2001 Sorry it has been so long since a meaningful post. So over the weekend, the Ducks narrowly avoided a loss. That game scared the shit out of me. We played like crap. So during the game, in which many of us were drunk, some heated verbal exchanges took place. I think I pissed off several of my friends/acquaintences. I have touched based with a few of them and they are ok, but one of them has refused the olive branch and I think I hate his girlfriend. Gah, I am in class and have to pay attention. I have a lot to do yet today, so I had better get busy. posted 9/4/2001 11:37:01 AM | link Monday, August 27, 2001 In my telecommunication class discussing whether the concept of forcing internet sites to have opposing viewpoints. Obviously, I am against this, but I just was reminded that I should update soon. I will discuss: E-Bay Dreams Thunbar Class Load Oregon Ducks Football. Talk to you later. posted 8/27/2001 05:25:12 PM | link Thursday, August 23, 2001 Day Two In class for Evidence. I like the teacher thus far, though we haven't got into shit yet. Anyway, he is starting to get to it, so I will update later. posted 8/23/2001 10:43:02 AM | link Wednesday, August 22, 2001 So, here I am in my first class of my second year of law school. So far this classroom is packed. Anyway, I am now done with the orientation crap that has plagued my life over the last week or so. It was a pain. Crap, gotta go. Talk to you later. posted 8/22/2001 04:35:22 PM | link Monday, August 20, 2001 School starts in just two days. Then I will be posting more often on this site which still has not seen a change in format. Gah, how do things just keep getting set aside. On the good side, I got my tickets to the Wisconsin game. posted 8/20/2001 01:26:59 PM | link Tuesday, August 14, 2001 Ok, so I really liked that poem even though I just wrote it. I don't like the last word, but it will have to do. I tried to avoid a rhyme scheme, because too often I get tied to one. The title was originally the Gullets of the mind, but I wasn't sure that gullets was a word. Anyone have a dictionary on them? That may be an awesome Boggle word. posted 8/14/2001 10:49:13 AM | link The gulleys of the mind... a poem to avoid work by.... Trepidation over the eternalness of the mind Brings about fear and self doubt Shuttering, writhing, yearning We scream for something more And are faced with an empty reality For the Mighty Zues has vexed us again Withholding the flame of self-sacrafice Leaving the timid cold and the Reckless abandoned Drizzle falls upon the stone and marble Framing the ubiquitous bust in a sheet of glistening life Unseen by mortal eyes yet seemingly remembered This is the illusion of immortal gradure The illusion of the eternal and the material Three drops of blood fall from my eyes One for the loss of eternity One for the loss of serenity The last is for the loss of my senility. posted 8/14/2001 10:45:41 AM | link Monday, August 13, 2001 I haven't been linking much lately, but there is a reason for that: I haven't had time to just surf lately. I did get a new cel phone (on a completely unrelated topic). I like it, but I dread the first month's phone bill. Did get a compliment from one of the lawyers at the firm saying that I had done good work on something I thought I had done awfully on. I seem to do that... do well when I think I have messed up... wonder if I just don't know what good is or I am a perfectionist while the world accepts the ordinary and regards it as extraordinary. A link to which I am not sure where it will lead. I am not even sure that there is such a place, but I finally have a link. posted 8/13/2001 12:56:55 PM | link So, Sleeping Boy (aka Jeff) is all moved in and it has been some time since my last post. So much to talk about if only I can remember it all. First, there was the wedding. You know, the wedding no one thought should happen. You know, the wedding where both members have been less than faithful. The wedding where people were snickering beforehand about who would stop this wedding. The wedding where the groomsmen wore hawaiin shirts and no one (except K) wore shoes. Well, aside from the oddity of the wedding itself, the reception had its own little world of oddity. The Bride's former fiance (who broke up with her during her first year of law school) showed up at the bar where the reception was (an unplanned event I assure you). Yes, there we were on the deck of a local restraunt and look to see who pops out of the large, pickup-style limo. It is, of course, the ex with his wedding party, for they are having their joint bachelor, bachelorette party at the same place as the bride was having her wedding reception. An odd moment to be sure. Now what adds a layer of irony to this is that said Bride had once stated that she would never return to this restraunt again because the ex had taken the new fiance there on their first date while the ex was still with the bride. First time she goes is the reception, and look who arrives. There was a bathroom scene, of which I realize now is of little import, but suffice to say that there was a disagreement about whether or not the bride was a bitch. School starts in a little more than a week. I am currently at work fearing the time when the partner that I did work for will come in and tell me how horrible of a job I have done. Gah, I hate self-doubt. posted 8/13/2001 08:26:33 AM | link |
