Ugh. DAMN, did I have the flu bad. I'm talking 102°F fever. But, I'm doing better now. Added 1 picture to the now existing PHOTOS page. Other than that, I'm in Linux hell at work right now: 1 of 3 servers is behaving; the other 2 refuse to config correctly. Bastards. 17.1.01
Definate site of the day: Web Economy Bullshit Generator. Wow. Fun stuff. Wanna ride it again. On other vistas, had some interesting long emotional talks with the K-Man. I think I may have begun to pin-point where certain things started to go wrong with my life. It wasn't all my parents' fault, although I can say they tended to only reenforce the lessons I was being fed about the evils of humanity. It wasn't all his fault (I'll leave him nameless and let you assume the deed), though I can say that round #3 of sexual abuse tends to be the one that sticks. Some of this is my fault: I /let/ it get to me. I let it keep me from trying to lead a "normal" life for too long. Since him (May He Rot In Hell, as I prefer to call him), it's been 5 years - high time to pick up and move on. By no means am I saying that women are required/expected X years after the abuse has ended to say, "Gee, that wasn't so bad." What I /am/ saying is that you're allowed to be angry. You're allowed to think you never want to do it again. What you /ought/ to do is say, "But my life starts now." Because when you wallow in years of self-pity and never attempt true relationships again, then the person that hurt you is stilll winning. *whew* Sorry for the down note, but I needed to say something ... Maybe more people should. 10.1.01
Goodness. I'm not exactly what one would call an avid movie goer. I just don't have the money or the time to spend. So, consequently, I tend to be a day late / dollar short on talking about them. My point here is that I finally saw MAGNOLIA last night. (And, though it's not raining actual frogs here today, it certainly is raining hard enough for me to consider that possibility.) SO now I can say that 2 movies have changed my life: MAGNOLIA and AMERICAN BEAUTY. I mean, wow. No, really. Wow. I feel like scum for not getting to see my grandfather before his death. Regrets, I've had a few, ne? If you're worse than me and still haven't seen this movie, do so. 8.1.01 Home - Archives |
