Empty cup I hold
Dreaming of coffee goodness
a blessing from God

¡Ojala que llueva café!

I go to Brasil
Music surrounds my body
Caffeinated Life!

¡Está lluviendo café!

We all will return
Brasil will make us gather
Soon, the coffee flows.

¡Va a llover café!

I am shaving my head. why??? I/m not really sure... i mean, part of it is to have an easier to care for noggin while in bolivia.... part of it is to donate my hair to www.locksoflove.org... and part of it is... well... why the hell not? I haven't had short hair in about 4 years... so it should be interesting. I'm kinda frightened though... my scalp hasn't seen the lioght of day for 4 years... is it going to freak out when the sun decides to hit it? will I be confused and bewildered by my own reflection? what the hell is going to happen? but, I am committed. Oh, I forgot to mention... part of it is just because if I shave my head, then my brother, russell will too... and I really want to see that. :) anyways, sleep is good...

mother shitter

So, I have yellow fever..... well, sort of... I"m going to bolivia in june, and so a fvew days ago, i went to the milby clinic in houston, and got myself all shot up with the hepatitis A vaccine, the typhoid vaccine, and the Yellow fever vaccine.... the last of which happens to be a LIVE vaccine... meaning that in a few days, I'll have yellow fever... a very mild case, true... but still... I'll have YELLOW FEVER! never really thought those words would be able to be spoken about me.

so the other day, I'm at work up at the Pasta Co, and for some reason I got inspired, so I wrote a book of Haiku about waiting tables.... here goes...
Water, Water, House.
Cheap ass bastards don't tip well
Hey, Get the fuck out

Straw? Napkins? Butter?
Ask for it all at once, man.
hey... get the fuck out.

Man drinks like camel
Get your own damn Mister Pibb
Hey, Get the fuck out

Snaps fingers at me
I'm NOT a dog to be called
Hey!- Get the fuck out!

Waiter! More Lemons!
Bitch makes her own lemonade.
Hey! Get the fuck out

Asshole rattles cup.
I can *see* your drink is gone
Hey... get the fuck out.

table 5-3 sits
I wait forever to close.
Hey! GET THE FUCK OUT!

*********

My section is full
Big top bitches and complains
Time for a smoke break.

I Don't Believe In Stairs

I don't believe in stairs

I said, as I brushed back my hair(s)

The stairs, they are bad. They make me so sad.

For me to climb them is exceedingly rare.

They rise from floor to floor.

Sometimes, they are blocked by a door.

But whether marble or wood, they cannot be good,

And I have vowed to use them no more.

The elevator, on the other hand

Is an invention, both glorious and grand.

From floor ten or floor one, they lift me with fun

Taking me up and up as I stand.

Their doors slide so soundlessy shut on

Rails at the press of a button.

On that wonderful day, when I'm taken away

It's a elevator I hope I am put on.

So don't look at me 'cause I don't like your stairs.

I won't be victim to your glances and glares.

I'll take my elevator, maybe now, maybe later,

One floor by one, or maybe in pairs

And that's OK too. Glen, my gay 38 year old waiter friend, took us out. I would type more, but I'm on a webTV keyboard, and it sucks ass!!!!!!!!!

I am the owner of a meat cleaver.

I've never had a meat cleaver before... don't think I've ever really needed one... but this weekend, I went to New Braunfels.

On any normal weekend in New Braunfels, I would have spent my free time swimming or tubing or doing any of those normal, guadalupe area kind of recreation thingys. But this was not a normal weekend in New Braunfels... This was labor day weekend, this was 108 degrees Farenheit (42.2 degrees Celsius). There was NO water. and what little water there wad in the river was completely overtaken by extremely drunken assholes (never mind the fact that drinking on the river was outlawed).

So, instead, we went shopping.

Cruised a bit up 35 to San Marcos to the biggest shrine to commercial america this side of Katy Mills Mall, The San Marcos Outlet Mall (insert fanfare here). Every major store and manufaturer you can imagine was represented, all offering goods at prices slightly lower than in retail stores. I bought a shirt for 5 dollars. The whole time I was there though, I was glancing across the highway to the Goodwill Superstore and thinking, "I could buy just as many "outfits" as these people here, and still only spend about 20 dollars."

There was one store I was interested in though... cooking equipment... Mixers, blenders, pots, pans, peelers, bottle openers, useless gadgets that everyone needs, and most importantly... KNIFES. Chefs knifes, cleavers, paring knifes, bread knifes, deboning knifes, filet knifes... all very very shiny and very very sharp. SO I bought one. Cheap. 8 bucks for a really good quality knife is nothing. I don't know when I'll use it. I'm not even sure where it is appropriate to use cleaver as opposed to a chef knife But I have one.

Austin, Texas.

I don't care what alison says, I like this town. I can come up here, visit with my friends, have a Mexican Martini at trudys, and get away from work, from home, from whatever's bothering me at the moment. I would write more, but I have to go visit with one of my oldest friends, emily...
