i guess it was only a matter of time before it happened... i've started listening to college radio. online. the scary part is that it's all the music i listened to before...just in radio format. actually, it's not that scary. it's more like...uhm. i don't know. i feel so very connected--commercial radio has always been an alienating experience for me because i sit there an listen to it and think "wow, this really sucks". the only issue is that there really aren't any college radio stations that i can pick up. there should be...i live near dc, and there are a gazillion colleges there...but i don't live near enough, so i can't pick up their signals. grr. so, i listen to college radio online...which is sad in some ways. but i guess it's good that i'm broadening my horizons and finding out about even more obscure music that will make me feel like even more of an outcast. my picks: virginia tech and boston university.
on the topic of radio, my household has been selected by the arbitron people. we get to fill out little journals...mine will probably fuck them up, but that's okay. they sent us money in the mail...one dollar bills. they're nice and crisp, so they'll work in vending machines. i like the arbitron people.
