Cristel, you should definitely get a copy of the paper called "Gratis Annonces," available from the Gratis Annonces office in Rabat. This is a weekly paper full of classifieds for cars, appartments, etc. Try to have a Moroccan friend close the deal for you, though. Apparently, it's very hard to get a reasonable price as a foreigner. Also, you should make sure that utilities like phone and electricity are already in place - that will save a lot of hassle and expense trying to initiate these services with the bureaucracy. - Matt

Ok, so this should be a great forum for discussion and organization. And it does come at a good time, just when most of us are starting to wonder how easy or difficult it may be to get 'a life' out here. So here is my first question: LIVING IN RABAT . HOw would you suggest going about getting an appartment or place to live. I am looking for a room or small appt (furnished) from October 15TH TO November 15th- any thoughts?
Thanks

Thanks to Matt Lehar for this intitiative. I am still trying to figure out how it works myself. I hope some of our former US grantees will join in. I will post more information as soon as I get a sense of the way it looks and functions.
