This just in: a Milo Miles Interview on rockcritics.com, obviously done as an email exchange, where all the usual suspects are rounded up, treated with original flair, and summarily dismissed in favor of more interesting things. "Back into your straightjackets, you lunatic bums."

Bobos in Radioland, by Dan Kennedy, an account of the Christo vs Lydon affair at WBUR. Missing issues: how is Connection listenership in the post-Lydon phase; why does WBUR broadcast religious programming every Sunday, especially now that BU President/Texan/Fascist/"Dem" Gov Candidate John Silber no longer rules the roost. Who's still picking HIS cotton?

The Village Voice: Music: Reason to Believe by Chris Nelson. This makes you wonder why "City in Ruins" isn't on the live disc. As much as I admire the aim of "Land of Hope and Dreams," it's not as good as this song.

The Village Voice: Music: Used Cars by Todd Kristel is patently unfair, but funny, in a kind of Dave-Marsh-parody kind of way. We're all gathering at Vince Winkel's tonight for the HBO show. Vince is elated, running around the office all week showing people the blur of a dot he is in the crowd in one of the sleeve shots.

8:15 pm and both kids in bed. Moses still clamoring for something, but that almost doesn't count. Fed, bathed and lights out, both kids. Today was pretty good, finished off my Charlie Rich column, now all it needs is a lead. Adam awoke a tad early very fussy, so we handed him back and forth until we heard Moses arise. I went downstairs to pee with him, then we actually got back into his bed and got twenty more minutes of snoozing, which set me up fine.

Found this essay at the office: Ron Rosenbaum on why Albert Finney should have won the Oscar. While I don't think as little of Benicio Del Toro as he does, it's a pretty cool angle.

{later} Of course, Moses was calling me because he pooped his pants, which I half-predicted. Then he needed a glass of water. Sara is out watching some theater with Judy, and guess what? There's nothing on TV. But I'd rather surf and blog anyway.

Our Mobsters, Ourselves (1) is the best thing I've read on the Sopranos, which I've been on the fence about. Obviously, it's quality stuff, and very watchable, but I haven't gotten addicted like many others. I struggle with point of view on the lead, on the whole subject: what are we supposed to think of this guy? I certainly don't sympathize or pity him, but I do enjoy him. And I find his efforts to get therapeutic help kind of touching.

Just found a very good background piece, Peter Viney on Moondog Matinee. I've been listening to this one a lot lately, and burning my own custom version of the Japanese pressing with extras from the newly remastered releases.

Moses, upon getting scooted in front of the dinner table: "I can't eat like this!"

Daddy, who's trying to hurry his son along while washing his hands: "Let's hurry up, our food's hot."

Moses: "You can blow on it!"

Moses to Mommy: "You know what other thing you can say when you burp? You can say 'OOh, I burped!'"

Moses to Mommy in the shower: "Don't forget to put your clothes on!"
