not much to say. cept for my review for the movie "requiem for a dream," which i know will come out all wrong. first, i say everyone checks out the website because i spent quite a while there. ok... well, i dont know what i was expecting of the movie... but it went beyond anything i knew about it in the first place (which was very little). poor joanna thought it was gonna be a comedy. it was... a journey. you start off happy and complete (in a weird way)... but you end with your face on the ground wondering where it all went wrong. but knowing full well exactly where. half the time i was practically yelling at the tv "Nooooooooooo." i dunno. everything was to the extreme. the happy parts were really nice. and the sad parts were... mind fuckage. when it was over... i almost wished i hadnt watched it in the first place. its a movie that doesnt let you rest. you are edgy and nervous and afraid for most the movie. it was... wow. i recommend it to everyone. and go read some real reviews if you want a better idea of the move. cos mine clearly didnt make enough sense.

my happiness
so today i havent napped yet... ok, im lying. i napped but it was only for 15 minutes before sean woke me up with his call. so technically, that shouldnt really count. i finished a gym oac unit tonight. ok, so it was easy... and short. but still. ah im a cheater with everything. but, back to the title of the blog... im happy cos its christmas in september. i went to paul's to pick up two cds (it was originally supposed to be one). i ended up with THREE. THREE. suckas. im excited for myself. and all you should be jealous of my good fortune.

its nice how during times of extreme duress... the genuine good nature of people... comes shining through. and perhaps all the people who do extraordinary things to help out... whether it be saving people from the rubble or just donating blood in an effort to help... are the things that make tragedies bearable. *even though it takes a tragedy to bring it out*

today when i walked into ta, aretha franklin's "respect" started playing. so i did the pimping dance. my ta thought it was hilarious and i figured that a day that starts with aretha franklin... cant be bad. well, i was wrong. petrina was the first one to tell me about the plane crashes. it didnt really affect me as i went off to english class. but during my spare i went to the library to sit in a huddle with some other students and watch the live news coverage. needless to say, it sunk in. and it really hit me hard. i dont quite know why... but it did. to watch the people running around looking for safety and friends... to watch the new york skyline up in smoke... it was just surreal. all i kept thinking was... "things like this just dont happen." what made me even more upset was knowing that these things do happen. terrorist acts happen all over the world and i was angry at myself that only when it hit close to home... was i upset. but it did hit close to home. too close. and the newspeople kept using words like "carnage" and "war." those words didnt sit well for me. i used petrina's leg as a comfort blanky. and i thank her for offering me her dirty tissue when she noticed me crying. she's a doll. what also bothered me a lot... was the people in the halls joking about war and how the united state's deserved it. for me... it wasnt a joke. it wasnt just a couple of planes crashing into buildings. what it was... i dont know. feeling vulnerable. realizing how easily things like this can happen... knowing it just did happen. i suddenly felt extremely insecure. and theres nothing i can do. but watch everyone try to pick up the pieces. im sorry if this is overly dramatic for some of you who are cheering for the downfall of the usa... but... well, these are my first reactions. and i think its fair for me to be shaken. hell, i think everyone should be shaken.

mommy says
i was talking with my mom a little while ago... and it was weird. i was in a really crappy mood and she was laughing at me. she explained how i always feel every emotion as strong as humanly possible. i never feel anything in the middle. im either really happy or realllllly sad. or reeeeeeally hyper. or reeeeealllllly mad. im always REALLY something. anything i feel is never half-assed. and she's not the first person to make that observation. so i began thinking about it... and i have to admit that it seems true. i cant figure out whether or not its a good thing though.

hot fun in the summer time
today was the best day at work... EVER. first of all... it was pretty dead. less people = less annoyance for sam. seeing as it was so dead, left more time for me to amuse myself. i made posters on our empty bulletin board that said... "mike needs love," "joy's throaty hurty," and "sam loves bunnies." mike was in a shitty mood, joy was sick, and i... love bunnies. hey, i laughed. and so did some firemen. i did funny dances with my apron that made mike roll around laughing... AND i made a paper bag handpuppet... whom i affectionately called "mr. lick's." joy loves me now. even though i made her throat hurt more from all the laughing. mike scared me. at first... the occassional poke in the tummy didnt bother me. ok... i could even sorta tolerate the occassional tickle. but not the intense tickling. not the hitting/poking of the ass with his keys. or the rubbing of his hands all over my face. geeze, i know im sexy in my lick's uniform... but CONTROL YOURSELF dammit. lol. jk. nice guy... just crossing my lines is all.

other than that... everything is peachy keen. KEEN peachy, even. for this second at least.

There are times when the world so exasperates me that I feel I cannot go on living in it for another moment and I want to disappear for good. But then, if I happen to obtain some nice white paper, Michinoku paper, or white decorated paper, I decide that I can put up with things as they are a little longer. Or, if I can spread out a finely woven, green straw mat and examine the white bordering with its vivid black patterns, I somehow feel that I cannot turn my back on this world, and life actually seems precious to me. --Sei Shonagon
