A section of England (I believe it's near London or part of London) called Lambeth is experimenting with relaxed laws regarding marijuana possession and use. The most you will get from police in the region when caught smoking a joint is a warning. Believe it! The future is getting a whole lot more intelligent. A reporter from the Guardian tested it out himself. (Via 4Twenty.net.)

I'm here at Brock now. I moved in yesterday, and tonight is the first time I've been able to get connected to the internet since then. I had a horrible time last night, I was so homesick and just wanted to talk to Ashley. It wasn't a pretty sight. I'm better now, but I still really miss home.

Yeah, so that guy who was on roofies the other night. Man, that was a crazy experience. I was out to lunch on ketamine at the time, as was Dan, so we both didn't exactly know what to do with the unconscious drug dealer in the back seat of my car. It was a good thing that we had help come along eventually and take care of the situation, but by that time I was late to meeting Ashley, which sucked big time.

Dan and I went to pick up tonight, and this dude we were with was on R. Whatever that is. Rohypnol, or whatever it's made from. He totally passed out and we thought for a while we should take him to the hospital. But then some other people helped us carry him out of my car into their house. I had his right leg, Dan had his left leg, and Stef had his arms, and therefore his upper body. Dan felt a little bad about that because the guy was pretty scrawny and we were both better equipped to handle an entire side to ourselves.

Of all the possible countries, how is it that Albania consider itself the "Land of the Eagles"?

Ashley is great. We get along swimmingly, and she actually likes going to Chapters book stores and just spending hours there, which is really cool. We went to Hamilton today and went to the Toys R Us, and then the Chapters. She's very passionate about things, and I suppose that's just the Italian in her. It's nice. I'm really going to miss being with her when I leave for school in a few days. I don't know where our relationship is going to end up after I leave. I don't know where I want our relationship to end up after I leave. I suppose after I leave, I'll know my feelings toward her a little better.

Time is running out on my summer. Tomorrow I have to close my bank account at Bank of Montreal. I may end up driving to London and giving Nausie $340 for taking my lease, or I may not. The fucker has pretty much cut off all contact from me, by not replying to my emails and not having a phone anymore. So I'm beginning to think he doesn't really want my goddamn money. I have to work a monster 10 hour shift tomorrow at Wendy's, my last. It's going to suck ass, I have to work pick-up window the entire time, I hate all the goddamn customers. I'm beginning to really get into a bad mood, I haven't done ecstacy in a few weeks and I'm losing that happy feeling I got from it. I had hoped it was permanent. I haven't talked to Danny boy in days, and I'm wondering what's up with him for this weekend. It's my last weekend here.

Along the same vein, I've learned quite a bit of new stuff in the web site design field this summer as well. I'm glad, because this is one my main hobbies and one of the main reasons I spend so much time online. It's a bit of a creative outlet for me and I don't want to give up web design even though I've turned by back on Computer Science at Western now. Thanks go to A List Apart mainly.

It just hit me that this time next week I'll be at Brock. At university for another eight months. Although I'm really excited and I'm sure I'll have a good time, all I can think about at the moment is all the people here in Brantford I'll be leaving when I go... I've met so many great people this summer and I'm really going to miss them when I leave.

Jeffrey Zeldman is a very smart man. He talks about the way the Web has changed during this economic downturn, and makes a good point: The Web has not changed in its essence. I find this comforting, especially since it rings true with what I'm trying to do with Nintendo Legacy and this site as well. Read his words.

This guy says service at fast-food restaurants is crappy. At first I thought he was just saying McDonald's is like that, but it turns out he believes everywhere is the same. I have to agree I suppose, in principle. He has some of his facts straight, we focus on speed of service (which is what the customer wants, I think) and getting orders right and making good food (at Wendy's, where I work). Usually I'm at the pick-up window, and I always try to be nice to people, but most of the time the job sucks dick and how can I help it if I'm not chipper for all the dickwads who drive through? They're all such snotty little dinks.

This is not good.

Last night I saw Enemy at the Gates, and must say that although all I heard about this movie was that it wasn't all that good, I really liked it. I love the Soviet Union, all that sort of stuff and this movie was just a lot cooler than Saving Private Ryan. At Blockbuster tonight some dumb broad was saying how she fell asleep twice during it and how it sucked and I wanted to punch her in the back of the head. What a stupid broad. Great movie.
