My mom was telling me that last night on the subway a group of 14 or so year old kids got on and were loudly announcing that the explosion was one of the coolest things they had ever seen. They were excited to get home and watch more. I asked her if anyone said anything to them, let them know that thousands of people had died in that "cool" explosion, but no one said a word.

A frightening photograph of the WTC and a list of what Toronto is doing.

This is scaring the shit out of me! The t.v is on in the boardroom here at work and I've been in and out to see the footage. I never thought I would see something so devastating in my lifetime, and hoped at the same time that I never would. In taking percautions they've shut down the CN Tower and my mom called to say that she was being sent home as well. She works in a big bank tower and since they deal with NY quite a bit nothing is happening. I can't imagine the total chaos in NYC right now.

I've got more pics of the festival for ya! Last night we went to see a Canadian film entitled 'The Art Of Woo' starring much music VJ Sook-Yin Lee, the hot sexy Adam Beach, and everybody's favourite Canadian actor (well mine anyways) Don McKellar. I really liked the movie, I hope it gets wider distribution and you guys get a chance to see it. So we're standing in this huge ass line at the Uptown that wraps around the block and I find out the other movie showing is World Traveler. I remembered looking at this film in the book and considering it for a choice but we opted for Woo instead, then I rememberd that delicious Billy Crudup was in it as was Julianne Moore. Damian had gone up to the front of the line to see what time 'World Traveler' started, came back, and sent me up there saying there was tons of press and that I might see Billy. I walked up there thinking "shit, I won't see anyone" but kept walking just in case. Tons of press was right, I squeezed myself in a little closer, looked up and who was standing 2 feet away from me? The beautiful Ralph Fiennes, I had my camera but I was frozen, this man is gorgeous in person, abso-frigin-lutely GORGEOUS!!! By the time I grabbed my camera tall people shoved in and blocked my view, I snapped a few shots in hopes of catching a good one but all I got was this

His forehead is stunning isn't it? So anyway a car pulled up a couple minutes later and out popped Billy and Julianne, I snapped a few ear and shoulder shots of Billy and started to feel that pushy, anxious feeling the press must get when trying to get a good shot. I guess I have to get pushier and push back eh? I did end up getting this though

So 'World Traveler' went in and we were still standing there when Sook-Yin, Adam, and Don came walking up beside us. Damian had the camera at this point but shoved it into my hands saying "I can't I can't, you do it, get a picture of Adam" (he's so funny). So here's L to R: Adam and Don with Sook-Yin in the background.

*sigh* The film fest is going well so far, we've only seen 2 of our 5 films but it's sad coz it's going to be over soon. On friday we saw 'Dust', we didn't like it too much (Joesph wasn't there either) and last night we saw the world premier of 'Buffalo Soldiers'. It was great! So much funnier than I though it would be. There's something about being the first audience to lay eyes on a film that sends an excited vibe through the crowd. Joaquin Phoenix and Anna Paquin were there which was pretty cool. I brought my camera with me and managed to steal a few shots, now the stage was sort of far away (we hate to sit too close when watching a movie, that whole neck strain thing is a turn off) but I did my best. Digital photography is amazing isn't it? I simply unloaded them into photoshop, zoomed in a little, and painted out the big balding head in front of me that caught my flash.

The view from our seats (no flash, at this point I wasn't sure if I could have a camera in there). The rows of empty seats were the reserved seating areas for the stars/producers/cousins of the director etc.

L to R: Damian, me, Rob in our seats at the Elgin (great 'up the nose' shot). This is my favourite theatre to see film fest movies in.

On the stage featuring from L to R: Joaquin, Gregor Jordan (director with a beautiful Aussie accent), Anna, the producer, and the writer of the novel the film is based on.

a photoshop zoomed in closer look at the last picture

Oh my god, is he waving to ME?

Tonight Damian & I are going to see our first film of the festival entitled 'Dust'. Let's hope it's good coz we'll be standing in line for an hour or more before we even get into the theatre. The film festival is pretty much a collection of line ups that span a week with a few hours of film woven in between. I like it though, I like being part of the line, I like people coming up to me as I've got my ass perched on a curb asking just "what the heck is going on?". I also like when the stars of the film are there, it's kind of a novelty watching it with them, you know? Joseph Fiennes is in this one, hope HE'S there!!! (though if he were in town I'm sure he would have called me by now...*smirk*)

I don't believe this! I'm actually sitting at my computer about to work on my website, the one I'm paying for every month but not using. Let's hope I can get at least the blog working on it tonight so we can all stop looking at that annoying pop-up ad for that mini camera.

Why can't someone pay me to be a bum? I hate what I do with such a passion but I made the mistake of not going to college or university right out of highschool so I'm "un-educated". I decided (stupidly I realize now) to work for a year after school and think of what I might want to take when I go back......idiot! I got stuck in the clutches of the "I'm making money, I don't have to study, money money money" idea and never did end up going back to school. Now the only thing I can get hired for is the shit I'm doing now which sucks, involves working with numbers (which I hate), bores me to the brink of insanity, and slowly drains me of any creative potential. I need a change of environment, that might be my biggest problem, the people here are getting on my last nerve.

If I started making and selling soup cans covered in felt patches with macaroni glued to them would you guys buy them? It could be a second income for me and perhaps they may become so popular I'll need to open a store. They would get so huge that I would have an empire much like that of Martha Stewart, will oyu help me out? Help me gain back my creativity? Okay, I'm just going to have to go home and gorge myself on broccoli & chesse soup.

Another thing that isn't helping me in my aggrovated state is the fact that my jeans are still 'just out of the dryer' tight, I pulled them out at 7:00 this morning and they still haven't stretched to my desired comfort level!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO KATE!!!!!!!!!! I can't believe my little sister is 22 today. I hope she likes the gift Damian & I got her, I can't say what it is in case she reads this. I think I'm going to start making birthday cards from now on, I made Kate's last night and it looks so cute. There's so much more thought when it's handmade (and you can go glitter crazy, there is so much silver glitter on my floor it's blinding), I love homemade gifts!

I swear to god or whoever it is that reigns supreme that I am going to deck the chick beside me! I know I've complained about it more than once but her hacking throat clearing snot snorting sounds are at an all time high today, I'm actually getting a headache from it. What exactly is it that's lodged in there, woman? Smokers, if you're looking for a reason to quit, come by and sit beside her for a day and listen to her smoker sounds. Can you fire someone for being gross?

"Well, then, I just hate you and I hate your ass face!" Yup, Damian & I picked up the Waiting For Guffman DVD on the weekend. The deleted scenes are just way too funny, we even watched the whole movie with the commentary on and it killed us. If you haven't seen this movie I urge you to get out there and get it.

On sunday we had a dinner party with my parents a couple of my friends, my grandma, my grandpa (who's visiting from Florida), and my sister and her boyfriend. It was so much fun, my mom cooked this killer dinner including fresh peach/ raspberry pie from scratch. We went through a few bottles of wine the guys had some port and us ladies tried a yummy new shot (the name escapes me right now) made up of tequila and a strawberry cream substance.....goes down smooth. I bought some blue (coz their my favourite) glow sticks so I could show off my new poi habit to everyone, they were impressed! I managed to let go of one by accident and sent it soaring into the night sky landing in the neighbours yard. I also managed to whack myself between the eyes while practicing during the day, it made a wonderful cracking sound.

Yesterday Damian & I went for a hike (in the wrong footwear) through the forest at Rattlesnake Point Park, it was so beautiful in there. I had never been but Damian had, he used to go as a kid all the time with his parents. I was testing out a VERY high speed b&w film (3200 ASA) this weekend so many of them are within the forest, I want REALLY grainy photos, just a test. Hopefully I will be able to get them scanned so I can put them up on my site, I have quite a few new photos I have to hang in the site but my dang scanner is still on the broken side.
