This material will be covered for the midterm 10/13, plus the Tour and Lesson 1 of GoLive!
Hi Everyone,
I'm going to be working on the banner across our website. I need to come up with a title or name that has to do with the environment. If anyone has a suggestion please email me at fireworks@anthill.com or macman@cybertecmm.com.
Thanks, Lorie Kuntz

Lorrie;
The only computers to have the golive program are in room 508, and it is going to be in use till 4:00 p.m. However Russ said we could use the computers in the back of the room if we where real quiet. I have been coming in on Wed. mornings and the room is empty till later. This might be a better time to work.

Russ M, In regards to your last post on selling ideas, some one has to create a site for those services, there will always be a job for web designers. Regards, Eddo

One hot item on the Web right now is selling ideas, everything from how to keep rabbits out of your garden to eliminating the blind spot in your car mirror - all without creating your own website. Are we being made obsolete already?

For those who may be concerned about hackers or programs sending info from your computers, check out Zone Alarm, a FREE firewall I've been using for a couple of months and seems very solid. Simple to install and unobtrusive in general. It will tell you when a program tries to access the Web, and ask if you give it permission to do that.

Darn. I meant to include this in my last post. If anyone is interested in finding out if ET really DOES phone, you might check out http://setiathome.ssl.berkeley.edu.
There is a neat screensaver download there that will allow you to join in and help find him. ;>) Jim

Hello everyone.
I have some links on my site at http://www.geocities.com/sickhtml/index.html. For anyone interested in maintaining their privacy and security from hacker intrusion, www.grc.com is a great place to begin to learn about it.
If any of you are plagued (as I sometimes am) by 'spam' www.spamcop.net is a place that will figure out the proper place to report it and will send the report for you. They DO have a 'pay' service but the basic reporting function is free.
Looking forward to the class tomorrow. Cya. JIm

I wanted to thank Eddo for his helpful response. I will check out the other web site and also the studio page. I must have missed it. I thought your site was very nice, not too busy. I don't think an art gallery site out to bombard you with distractions away from the work itself and yours has kept that in mind. However, I think it would require some self discipline not to do an overkill: like overworking art. Thanks Eddo. When I get that far, I may give you a call for some advice. : )

Russ, still can't get this thing to work from my home machine. It reads out ok, but then won't input anything I want to input. What's going on? Did you get my WH critique? And the URL I sent last week? Harry

Hello Class, has anyone put together a web site yet? if so, maybe you could post the url here so I could take a look and see someones elses perspective on what a site should be. Interaction is good, I can learn from that. Thanks, Eddo

Looks like some people are still short a review of the White House site, and many have not sent the URL of their GeoCities site. Let's keep those letters and postcards coming! One important thing to realize is that there are a number of good tools out there to help you develop websites, and you should probably learn more than one. Golive may be the one being taught in the class, but some already have experience with Frontpage. If you don't have other tool experience, try to get onto GeoCities in your study time and learn the tools used there, since they are similar to others you may run into in the future. And remember to check out Jim Jeremiah's Site.

Let's all give a hand to those terrific Olympic athletes. Anyone having trouble with Anthill, read the blurb at the top of the blog.
