these pictures
actually show people escaping the world trade center down the emergency stairs. the pictures also show the entrance hall of the wtc. possibly some of the last pictures taken there. read the photographer's story at

i am impressed. i updated my site over the weekend, and google already refreshed its search results featuring all my changes. anyone remembers the days when you could submit to altavista and were able to search the fresh content after only one night? or the days when you were able to submit to infoseek and the links were included within minutes? as a matter of fact, anyone still remembers infoseek? as much as i like fast aka alltheweb.com, google clearly outscored fast on my site. well done, google.

so i updated my site. slightly new layout. much better code. and i am happy about the style sheets. well, actually, not quite as the link colors seem to conflict with the image borders in some browers, but hopefully i have a workaround for that soon. more updates on the way. just be patient with me, please.
