Everyone here is okay. Like everyone else, I'm shaken up by what happened today, but I'm doing damn good in comparison to all those people who lost their lives or were injured. They're the ones who need the attention today, not me. Anything going on my life right now is just a bunch of...well, whatever.

I can hardly believe it myself, but I'm actually lucid enough to be writing for my LPP site for a change. It's kinda different being alert enough to actually write and have it make sense, LOL!!!

No, what I'm writing hasn't been posted yet, but the various sections will be posted as I finish them. I actually spent 2 hours last night and about 2 hours today writing. Finished the outline, which I thought I'd never be able to complete.

Just having fun! Whatever!

Well this is fun. My doctor has jacked up my medication from 25mg to 50mg. She said, and I quote: "You're going to feel just as bad or worse than you did when you first started on the 25mg's. It's going to be rough on you for the first couple of weeks every time we increase the dosage."

Well duh. I just took the pill about 3 hours ago. I am already falling asleep at my keyboard and feel like I'm going to throw up. Isn't this cozy! Whatever.

I really must insist on venting just a *little* bit. A couple months ago I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia and CFS. I had bunches of tests done and stuff, but it turns out it's fibromyalgia and I've probably had it for *years*, undiagnosed. It's easy to miss a diagnosis on this one, apparently, because the individual symptoms mimic so many other things. Needless to say, I got treated for a lot of different things, and none of the treatments really worked (the problems kept coming back).

My biggest problem was headaches and fatigue. The headaches would hit about once every 3 months, I'd get a really bad one and then a series of milder ones but they were miserable. It also causes pain that causes the muscles to ache, shooting pains, and pain whenever the skin is touched. It's not all the time, it just sort of "flares up" for several days at a time, then stops.

So anyway, back to the saga. My doctor put me on a drug called amitriptaline, which is also called Elavil, an antidepressant. Presumably this drug is being used as a pain treatment for fibromyalgia, is supposed to help me sleep (fibro causes sleep irregularities) and should help with the headaches. Problem is, the medicine will take 3-4 weeks to start working, and in the meantime, I've been advised by my doctor that I will feel a lot worse before I feel better.

No shit. My mood is up and down like a yo-yo, and I sleep constantly. Half an hour after I take the pill, I get a freakin' headache!

Doctor says these are side effects and should stop in 3-4 weeks. It's been only a week. I said to the doctor, "Okay, so as long as I don't have a new head growing out of my neck, I should be fine?"

"Yup," she laughed, just before I dozed off again.

Actual conversation that took place in the Coffren household last night:

Hubby: "I'll cook dinner if you'll run to the store and buy some chicken. I'll fry it for you."

Me: "Okay, what would you like, wings?"

Hubby: "Yeah, wings and... ummm... clubs."

Me: [blink] "Clubs?"

Hubby: "Yeah, you know, clubs."

Me: [blink again] "Clubs."

Hubby: "Yeah."

Next installment: Coffrens emerge from their Cro-Magnon cave! Whatever!

Hmmm... talked to hubby, and I think NC isn't going to happen - seems like he's talked himself out of it. Had a good cry and let it go. Not that I was that tied to it anyway, but still, I was hopefully optimistic. Now I don't know what I am, LOL!!! Whatever.

More from the This Could Only Happen in My World column: Yesterday I was sitting at my office computer, having a merry old time, when a large black spider crosses the desk. I roll the chair back, thinking he's just going to jump off the desk, but NO, he jumps directly inside my keyboard. It took me half an hour of shaking the keyboard, blowing computer dust cleaner into the keyboard, and screaming to get him out.

In other news: Mikey is in NC today. His job sent him for a week to set up a new M&L shop. They asked him to see how he likes the area - they are interested in having him be yard manager in NC. I told him if they give him a formal offer, I'm packed already. Maybe the economy is better down there then it is here. We noticed that housing prices are much lower, so we could potentially take our money from the sale of this house (and it wouldn't be much) and buy a nice actually finished house for a change. Whatever!

Hey! For anyone who was concerned, just want y'all to know that I'm going to live. For now the tentative diagnosis is fibromyalgia. Going to try to get it under control with exercise and supplements. I'll be okay. Whatever!

Warning: WHINEY BLOG ENTRY HERE.

I'm not sure what's going on but I've gotten progressively sicker since Saturday. I noticed being really tired on Sunday but I hadn't had any decent sleep for a few days either so I didn't make anything of it. Slept a ton on Sunday and on Monday and notice I am getting weaker and weaker. And my costochondritis probably isn't costochondritis because the pain is now all over my body. I can't get in to see my doctor till Friday so I'm just trying to hang in till then.

Okay I'm done whining. ;) Other than that things are fine. I've gotta try to get some work done, if I can get my body up out of bed. Yesterday I couldn't. LOL. Whatever!

Chronic pain really bites. I mean really.

Last year my doctor diagnosed me as having this bizarre thing called costochondritis, which is basically an inflammation of the cartelege around the heart and lungs. Well. I read some about it, and the doc told me to use Ibuprofen for the pain, 600+mg at a shot.

Problem is, it's worse now than it's ever been, and Ibuprofen isn't working at all. I notice it gets worse when I get too warm - had to leave band practice for a while last night because it was just too hot in the studio. I keep dreaming I'm having a heart attack because it goes on even while I'm sleeping.

We're getting ready for our anniversary party, and Mike is off work today getting stuff done in the yard. He was out this morning running errands and came home and gave me a hug. And I had to tell him to stop because it hurt so bad. :(

This sucks. Every year it's something. Last year it was a toothache. year before was a migraine. Year before that was a kidney stone.

LOL I guess that's just my life. Whatever! :)

No, Kitty, I really don't think it matters how much RAM you have in your machine unless you have too little. I just bought a Micron, and decided to put money into extra RAM - 256MB to be exact - and I love it. Able to run a bazillion applications simultaneously without anything crashing (I am also using Windows 2000).

Glad to hear your Mac experience didn't convert you - didn't think it would when you first posted about using one in your Blog. When we used a Mac at my former job (before the layoff from hell) I decided the only good thing about a Mac is that it's more aerodynamic and goes further when you throw it out a window than a standard PC does. And out of the six or so PC's I've owned, there's only been one I would have considered tossing.

I spent yesterday in DC and things went really well - everyone is happy with my work so far and there are a few changes I need to implement on the sites but overall things are going great. Whatever!

Some of you may remember my horror at seeing two enormous slugs doing it while dangling from the side of my house. Well, here's another update from the Coffren house, a.k.a. "National Wildlife Headquarters".

While cleaning my kitchen, a spider hopped onto my arm - this wasn't a spider, mind you, it was a SPIDER. It bit me not once, but twice. So anyway, I shreiked and knocked it off my arm. I was yelling, "Icky! Kill it! Icky!".

When I found the SPIDER on the floor, I was grossed out when I realized that it's body was moving... like it was teeming with some sort of disease. Absolutely gross. So I stepped on the SPIDER.

To my horror, the SPIDER squished, and suddenly there were several baby spiders scurrying around (probably about 30). Turns out that the SPIDER was a mom carrying it's young around on it's back.

Yuck! Whatever.

All in all today was not a terrible day. I spent some time online this morning, and then started planting some of my plants in the flower beds around the yard, with the help of the Incredible Screaming Cat. She's so funny, just hangs out with me anywhere I go. She'll either sit and watch or just lay down while I'm burying plants in the ground. What a kook!

Tomorrow I'll be working on the outline for my freelance job and getting that sent out, and then back to planting. Fun! Whatever!

Howdy all. Haven't been much in the bloggin' mood, but I'll get back to it eventually. Not that my mood is bad, mind you, I've just been busy with stuff around the house, preparing to knock down the living room wall for the new addition, cleaning up the yard so it will be ready for new plants soon, that sort of jazz.

No job yet, but I keep sending out resumes and making calls, eventually the right thing will come along. :) I don't fret about it, it's not like I quit my job and am just sitting home slacking. As a matter of fact I haven't really taken any time off for me just to relax and have fun since I've been out of work! Wonder what that's all about? Whatever!
