Has anyone ever emailed the president at president@whitehouse.gov? Ive got some things to talk about.
Watched an interesting story on Middle Easterners and their way of life vs our so-called satanic ways. They talked about their value of life and preservation vs our cowardly attitude of fighting and dropping bombs on people as to avoid conflict. We are a country very removed from death. Once we start facing it, we will understand the value of death of peoples from all walks of life.

We got a place in Bloomington and not only is it a house, but we're paying half the rent we pay here and twice the space with a huge yard, deck, and basement. Check it out.
Pictures from the prayer service on friday taken from my office.
One interesting note, the telemarketers have yet to call our house and ask for anything since the terrorist attack on tuesday. Anyone else notice that? We usually get around 10 calls a day.

There was a huge gathering in front of the Tribune Building at noon to honor the victims. A least 500 people showed up.

It's been hard trying to show my happiness for the move and at the same time mourn the loss of thousands. It does show the insignificance of my daily toils and troubles, like "I wish the traffic would lighten up" or "Jeez, they're out of whole wheat Fig Newmans again!". Seriously, I take myself to serious and Im way to hard on myself. I lead that over-perfectionist mentality that is just ridiculous. With that said, Sonya and I have been planning this for quite some time. We decided early this year that moving would be a good thing on many levels as well as good for our relationship. The city is great for the single person but once in a great relationship, there are things, at least for us, that we wanted to do but couldnt seem to achieve much. You know, non-city things, from bikerides, to just plan serenity. We spent lots of time with where to go. My family's from Indiana, hers is from New England. We wanted to be near one of them. We checked out possibilities in New England. There are definately some choices. Without getting into serious detail, let's just say that in the end Bloomington was the obvious choice. We thought of Portland alot, but its far away from both our parents and that makes it hard when holidays hit since we both want to go to "our" parents' house. So, I'm coming back to a town I've always loved and Sonya is moving for the first time. I think the bombing on tuesday was the sad icing on the matter. I fear the future of America's largest cities, but I hope some assurance of peace is near.
Ned, if we get bored in Bloomington, can you put on your party hat and do a dance for us while we throw peanuts at your feet? Hey, if we get bored, we'll leave. Now that's an easy answer, but for now, nothing seems finer than some peace and quiet. Ned, wait til you hit 33, you'll finally know what it's like to be an old man.

Dream: The rocks are eating me The night of the terrorist attacks made my sleep all messed up. When I did sleep I had one dream I probably will always remember. It wasn't just a dream, because it really was a nightmare. It went like this...
Sonya and I were walking around the city. We looked up and the skyscrapers were crumbling all around us. We would run in every direction and rocks would beat down in front of us. We were finding that escape was almost impossible. We finally got to the edge of the city (we were on an island) and looked down. Sort of below the edge was a dropoff about 30 feet. At the bottom of the dropoff was solid ground rock. Standing in this area were demons. The demons were eating people like candy. Sonya and I kept running and trying to escape both the rocks and the demons. I felt helpless.

Amos, I too hope that the other nations realize that it's Our problem too. We were attacked at home in peace to civilians and all races and cultures. This is the greatest act of evil and violence. Maybe to make real change something as God awful as this is, needed to happen. Im almost Quakerlike in my peace, but the bullies must be taught a lesson, not just of eye-4-eye, but they need help and we need better communication. My friend, Vu, sent me this. Its touching, actually, because Ive always been cynical of modern day america, until now...
TRIBUTE TO AMERICA The following, from a Canadian newspaper, is worth sharing.
Its subject is "America: The Good Neighbor"
Widespread but only partial news coverage was given recently to a remarkable editorial broadcast from Toronto by Gordon Sinclair, a Canadian television commentator. What follows is the full text of his trenchant remarks as printed in the Congressional Record:
"This Canadian thinks it is time to speak up for the Americans as the most generous and possibly the least appreciated people on all the earth. Germany, Japan and, to a lesser extent, Britain and Italy were lifted out of the debris of war by the Americans who poured in billions of dollars and forgave other billions in debts. None of these countries is today paying even the interest on its remaining debts to the United States.
When France was in danger of collapsing in 1956, it was the Americans who propped it up, and their reward was to be insulted and swindled on the streets of Paris. I was there. I saw it.
When earthquakes hit distant cities, it is the United States that hurries in to help. This spring, 59 American communities were flattened by tornadoes. Nobody helped.
The Marshall Plan and the Truman Policy pumped billions of dollars into discouraged countries. Now newspapers in those countries are writing about the decadent, warmongering Americans.
I'd like to see just one of those countries that is gloating over the erosion of the United States dollar build its own airplane. Does any other country in the world have a plane to equal the Boeing Jumbo Jet, the Lockheed Tri-Star, or the Douglas DC10? If so, why don't they fly them? Why do all the International lines except Russia fly American planes?
Why does no other land on earth even consider putting a man or woman on the moon? You talk about Japanese technocracy, and you get radios. You talk about German technocracy, and you get automobiles. You talk about American technocracy, and you find men on the moon-not once, but several times-and safely home again. You talk about scandals, and the Americans put theirs right in the store window for everybody to look at. Even their draft-dodgers are not pursued and hounded. They are here on our streets, and most of them, unless they are breaking Canadian laws, are getting American dollars from ma and pa at home to spend here.
When the railways of France, Germany and India were breaking down through age, it was the Americans who rebuilt them. When the Pennsylvania Railroad and the New York Central went broke, nobody loaned them an old caboose. Both are still broke.
I can name you 5000 times when the Americans raced to the help of other people in trouble. Can you name me even one time when someone else raced to the Americans in trouble? I don't think there was outside help even during the San Francisco earthquake.
Our neighbors have faced it alone, and I'm one Canadian who is damned tired of hearing them get kicked around. They will come out of this thing with their flag high. And when they do, they are entitled to thumb their nose at the lands that are gloating over their present troubles. I hope Canada is not one of those."
Stand proud, America!

Thanks Heidi, I know, Im sick of his predictions!! In addition, Heidi, I don't think the death toll is that high. Ive heard as high as 1,000 at WTC on NPR today. So conflicting reports are flying everywhere.

As you have probably have seen, the Nostradamus quotes are flying around everywhere. Back in the early 1980s I was scared shitless by Nostradamus -- watching the Orson Wells special, as well as our Cold War with Russia and the misinformation I got during my early teens. Anyway, it freaked me out then, it freaks me out now. Here's another quote from the man. Many are surfacing. Does anyone know much about Nostradamus.
"In the year of the new century and nine months, From the sky will come a great King of Terror...The sky will burn at forty-five degrees. Fire approaches the great new city..." "In the city of york there will be a great collapse, 2 twin brothers torn apart by chaos while the fortress falls the great leader will succumb third big war will begin when the big city is burning" -Nostradamus
